the absolute heartbreak of getting a lucky friend that you’re never going to meet in person

I REALLY wish they'd create remote lucky friends for trading. It's so disappointing and upsetting to have so so many lucky friends I'll never get to utilize due to never being able t ever meet up with them in person. Remote lucky friends would be amazing to have implemented in the game and maybe even limit it to like twice a week or something. Gotta give a little to get a little you know?

Lots of Lucky Friends . . . all over the world . . . that I'll never see. Wish Niantic would allow limited global trades. Like 1 lucky a month, or an event where you can do a few, or a pass that can only be purchased once a week to do 1 trade. Sitting on Lucky Friends forever is quite discouraging. And the rate is terrible. I interact with one friend every day, we've only gotten it 3 times in a year. Don't get me started on how boring trading is. Hope they make some improvements some day.

Wife and Haven’t triggered lucky friends in 4 months. Good to know for when we become lucky friends again

I did a back to back with one of my friends, and next day we did a raid together and got lucky again. It was almost a 3-peat.

I tracked my interactions for almost 2 years and found I got a lucky friend once every 80-100 interactions (either one of us interacting that day). Way less than 4-5% chance.

This has happened to me back to back 3 times so far. Honestly makes me wish more players would actively try to pursue doing Lucky Trades or that this was covered and promoted more in game as it’s probably my favorite feature.

Most people who play GO seem to love collecting Shinys and there is nothing that is more of a buzzkill than getting a Shiny you are excited for and seeing it has hardly any IV stats. This is where Lucky Trades can come in handy. If you get a Shiny that is less than 3 Stars you can Mirror Lucky Trade it to a friend for the same Shiny Pokémon so you both came come out with an actually usable copy of the same Shiny. Nobody loses out on a Shiny as you mirror trade, instead both players garbage stat Shiny gets upgraded. It’s literally Win/Win for both players and I honestly don’t know why some players avoid doing Lucky Trades as if it’s the plague.

Hopefully the Campfire App can encourage it alittle more, but some people seem so antisocial about doing a trade that takes all of 5 seconds that it makes me really wonder how some people go through life avoiding any and all basic communication or interaction as I’ve met some really awesome people via Pokémon Go’s Lucky Trades and some really odd flakes that don’t seem interested in talking to or trading with other players at all.

Im not disagreeing with this video or his tips for back to back lucky friends BUT i noticed in the vlog he referenced, his squirtle hat friend was using a lvl 43 account in the first trade and then they supposedly went back to back lucky friends but the second trade was with a lvl 49 account 🤔

So im guessing squirtle hat guy had 2 accounts and both were lucky with trainer club? Trainer club videos are good, you dont need to force out content by manipulating footage 😅

Maybe the first gift we get from a lucky friend over x amount of miles could give a "lucky" egg. The pokemon hatching from it would be "lucky."

As a trainer who actively hunt players I became lucky friends (and drop all best friends I will never meet again) with and trade whatever almost everyday (32k trades), let me add a few things:
1. You can become lucky friend the day you become best friend (it happened to me once only since 2016).
2. I had 4 back-to-back lucky friends in the last 6 years total. However, 2 of them were in the past month
Back2back was great the past 2 months when you had 2 special trades. Now, it's questionable (especially as I hunt shiny lucky)
I observed that the more you actually do these lucky trades (with lucky friends), the more chance you have to get a new lucky friend the following couple of days (I used to record lucky friend trades done vs acquired)
Random facts: I became lucky friend with the same trainer 12 times in 2021. Since 1/1/22, not once with that person. It almost seems that there's a pool of players you'll most likely become lucky with on a given year.

I've got 53 lucky friends, 75% of them are overseas and I can't trade with them, lol. I kinda ignore them now.

I have a friend who I have maxed out friendship for over a year. We trade all the time, we do get lucky trades, but we have never been lucky friends. I am curious. Are we missing the lucky trade prompt by staying in the trade window?

campfire dont change much ... okay.... u can trade lucky with locals... but long distance lucky has no meaning.... we should be able to AT LEAST do the lucky trades without distance limits....

oh wait, once your lucky friends you can only do one lucky trade and then it goes back to normal? did not know this! also, I have not made a lucky friend yet so that could be why :P

After fifteen normal lucky trades can you still make your fifteen guaranteed lucky trades? I really need to know it because I am very affraid to trade. I dont want to waste my chance to guarantee lucky trade 15 times.
