bold of you to assume i can afford .300 blackout or 7.62

If someone is confusing those 2 rounds, they shouldn't own guns

If 300blk somehow gets ignited in the chamber I doubt the gun will explode. The bullet is actually just a little smaller and the case will bulge a bit because it's also smaller. Try it

This is more of a problem when loading 556 and 300blk because they share a case, im sure id realize if i loaded a shinny brass case bullet into my AK that eats steal case,

I doubt the rifle would blow up. Both are 30 cals (.310 & .308). A 300 BLK in a 5.56 would go kaboom.

It Won't shoot because the bolt carrier won't hold the round in place! This is do to the size difference at casing. 7.62x39 has a rimmed 7.62 bolt casing. The 300 Blackout has a 5.56 casing and is to small to be retained and would get launched into the barrel by the bolt as it strips the round from the mag.

“Aww man I almost confused .300 BLK rounds for 7.62 and loaded them into my AK” -No one

I think the bigger concern for mixup would
Be .223/5.56 mixed into .300 blk

It will also change and go boom in a 223/5.56 chambered gun, too.

"They look the same" they do not

You're 7.62, wouldn't blow up from 300 blackout, unlike if you try and fire 300 blackout in a 5.56, or .223

All of my ammo cans have labels on them to tell others what caliber is in it

.300 blackout blows up 5.56 guns because it will fit into the chamber but the bullet is a larger diameter than the bore. 7.62 on the other hand, is the same bore diameter as .300 blackout, so it more than likely will not cause any sort of catastrophic failure. Still, dont do it though.

It will fire. It won’t go boom - they are both 30 caliber

I have this same problem, I keep confusing .22lr and 12 gauge

Let’s just say never mix up any rounds at all. Only fire what the gun is actually chambered in. Yes, some guns can fire more than 1 round but in general, I think this is a rule for all guns and ammo.

Call me crazy be you should probably never minx up ammo types in the same can
