There's one thing I notice with Rachel and princess Intan that Rachel spoke to the princess as a scholar not a socialite .

"Family never says thank you." So Asian! I love how cold and distant that is on the surface and yet somehow understood to be warm and familiar.

I love how Rachel literally went straight for the woman that talked to nobody due to being criticized because of her work and immediately established a connection with her by using her knowledge on economics. So empowering. This is where she proved herself worthy.

The shade Rachel received from all the auntys except the aunty that loved her outfit, is the same aunty that wasn’t surprised and knew only Rachel would be able to gain Princess Intans respect. We all have one of those auntys in our family. Aunty you are the best!!!❤️❤️❤️

Astrid is unbelievably, impossibly beautiful. I mean... damn...

This scene is so powerful. Rachel won over Intan with her knowledge(not money). She gained respect.
And she also was the only one who knew Astrid’s situation. She already had gained a lot of respect in this scene.

Great movie I have watched. I don’t usually give such comments. But here you go.

Considering the actress who played the princess (Kris Aquino) is a daughter AND a sister of past Philippine presidents, she's literally the embodiment of the film's title.

The way that Princess 👸 Intan shakes Rachels hand was her acceptance of allowing Rachel to sit in her row. Academics over abundance.

You can tell at around 1:35 that Princess Intan was about to roll her eyes and say "here we go" and then hearing Rachel talking about her article she kinda looked shocked and starts warming up.

"Stupid American girl is not good enough for my son."
**Rachel sweeps in looking hella fly and starts chatting up and befriending a literal princess, all while keeping composure and showing proper manners and respect despite not having a title or lots of money, and of course Nick is falling more in love with her from afar**
"Drat"

I just realized grandma only showed up because Astrid didn't have a date after her husband left the car. Stupid of me, I know :0

“I think you’ve got a fighter.” THESE WORDS ARE JUST SO EMPOWERING ♥️

Nick really didn’t do enough to protect Rachel or warn her about how vicious his family would be.

She really whispered bawk bawk to herself 😂😂

I never noticed this until now when Rachael and Astrid held hands before they sat down; it literally shows that these two are independent, sophisticated fighters because if Rachael weren’t fighting to be in that row with her power of knowledge and bravery, she wouldn’t be able to hold hand with Astrid, a successful, sophisticated woman. This is the most underrated woman empowerment scene ever.

I always disliked Nick's attitude towards Rachel. When she was first going to meet his family, he didn't bother to tell her how grand-scale the party was going to be. And here, he knew Rachel would likely feel awkward and possibly "laying low" in the back like he said. I get that Rachel needs to find independence and be her own woman but his perspective just really pisses me off. If anyone could enlighten me with a different opinion, that would be great because I can only find myself seeing him in this negative light.
