in case anybody wants a lil background info about these two cuties ; Astrid and Charlie were old lovers back in their college days in Paris where both, from prestigious and a wealthy background, had met and fell in love. Charlie is from the Wu’s which Astrid’s family isn’t the most fond of. The two would date in college and Charlie would also be the one who introduced Astrid in the world of high fashion and haute couture which Astrid is now very much known for. They were so in love to the point where they actually got engaged, but yet again Astrid’s parents didn’t want their daughter to be with the Hong Kong Wu’s so they broke of the engagement. Unlike in the movie, Astrid and Charlie kept in touch virtually through texts and emails once in a while, since the two were both married to their own respective partners, Astrid never thought if the possibility of something more. But Charlie on the other hand, while seemed to be in a picture perfect marriage, behind the scenes was a disaster. Truth be told, Charlie never stopped loving Astrid but rather accepted her marriage with Michael thinking Astrid was happy with it. well we all know how that went.

In the book, Astrid was said to be the most beautiful person in every room. Them I couldn't bring myself to finish the book cz she was crying over Michael.

In the books he was her first love but her family made him feel like dirt so he left her to build his own company to someday be worthy of someone like her. She tried waiting for him but fell for Michael (another poor man but he didn’t let her family scare him away, only ended up resenting her for being more rich than him). In the second book Harry (this man) & Astrid reconnect & fall in love again.
