You are literally a saint for this. I can never figure out floor plans and all my floor plans turn out so funky and nonsensical.

Tips for kitchen layout, follow the golden triangle rule. This is to prevent electrocution or fire. Never place the refrigerator, stove, and sink next to each other. And also use a shorter window if u want to place it above your counter tables. This will give space for your backsplash. (These applies to real life)

Love your videos!! ❤️

Can you do a landscape one? I really struggle trying to landscape my houses and yours always look sooo pretty.

Thanks for this tutorial, it was really helpful!!

I have an idea for you: Make a basic shell, and put 4 identical versions of it on the same lot. Then do a different layout for each of the houses, with different concepts in mind: like, one could be open concept, one could be a family home, one could be an older closed concept home, or a sim who plans on having roommates lives along those lines. It would be interesting to see how you would approach your layouts differently, and what the different possibilities could be, and showing them side-by-side.

For those of us who've been watching for a lot time, seeing you actually recommend not to cover windows while also covering the windows felt right - hehehe. Also funny that you now love the saucer lights that you used to hate! Love your content though!!

You using words like communal space and open floor plan makes me so happy as an architecture student.

I feel like this could be a sitcom house! Like you know when sitcoms are filmed in all open and spacious houses, yeah that lol.

THANK YOU so much! I also feel like practice makes perfect and that I've gotten better at floorplans the more and more I build.

i started watching the video, and i came up with a totally different floor plan idea- but this is what i love the most ab the sims, and it’s that everyone can do everything so differently and it always turns out so pretty (even the chaotic builds sometimes ajdhshhd) but honestly, this video was SO helpful and i’ll use all the tips next time i build a house for my sims! x

Because I started out building in The Sims 2, I build my houses based on math rather than looks (although, I do make sure my houses look nice). And what I mean by that is, in TS2 you couldn't move rooms around and if I didn't want to have to delete what I build and adjust, I would make sure that my dining rooms were at least 5x6 (to fit a 2 tile table and 6 chairs) and that my master bedroom was at least 4x5, etc. If I wanted to have full living room (sofa, loveseat, chair with coffee table) I made start with a 6x7.

So in essence I would build my houses based on room sizes, making the floorplan as I go. Sometimes I would build an open floorplan but the numbers would still apply. That's how I would draw it out, like I am seeing the rooms as I make the shape of the house. It's easier if I build room by room (not furnishing yet) but just making the shapes and fitting them together like a puzzle.

Omg I’ve been waiting for this. I use to be such a great builder with the Sims but I have fallen off with all the new ways to build. I’m still using the Sims 3 camera because I can’t conform to this new way but I’m trying 😂😂

This was seriously super helpful!! You're so amazing!! Would you do a video where you explain the difference with home types? (Contemporary, modern, mid century) you always tell us the house style you're building & I feel like I don't understand the concept! Thank you!!! I LOVE your videos! You've quickly become one of my favorite simstuber channels!! ❤
