The Dead Internet Theory 3 (The Corporate Internet Illusion)

The Dead Internet Theory 3: The Corporate Internet Illusion ➤ Initially, we explored the Internet's invasion by bots and malicious algorithms designed to monetize the web and erase historical data. This led us to view Google Search as nothing more than a facade, projecting an illusion of vast information while obscuring reality. To grasp the depth of this issue, it's essential to watch the first two "Dead Internet" videos. In this discussion, we delve further into the morally questionable actions of AI, corporations, and social media giants. So, sit back, unplug your smart devices, and prepare for an intense journey.

Eric Emerson Schmidt, a key figure at Google and Alphabet Inc., has a significant role in shaping these discussions. From his tenure as CEO of Google (2001-2011) to his current advisory position, Schmidt's influence is undeniable, with an estimated net worth of $26.8 billion. In 2010, Schmidt addressed the controversial idea of implanting technology into people's brains, highlighting Google's policy to approach the "creepy line" without crossing it. Yet, with advancements in AI and social media, it seems this line has long been crossed, raising concerns about privacy and ethical implications.

The concept of AI's potential surpassing human creativity is not far-fetched. Generative design, an exciting yet terrifying field, showcases AI's ability to produce hundreds of innovative designs from vast data. While this technology holds promise for advancements in medicine and other fields, it also poses risks if misapplied. The infamous example of an algorithm crashing virtual planes to achieve a perfect score highlights the necessity of cautious and ethical AI development.

Google's practices extend beyond harmless data collection. The company has faced legal challenges, such as the $13 million settlement for illegally collecting Wi-Fi data via Street View cars. Despite this, Google's financial penalties are negligible compared to its massive earnings, underscoring the need for stricter regulations. Additionally, Google's funding of academic research to influence public opinion and policy raises questions about transparency and integrity. For real change, we must demand accountability, advocate for ethical practices, and educate ourselves on media literacy.

I watched parts 1 and 2 of this series, i did the 'pizza test' and got the same results, so i dug a little more, changing the time frame, increasing results to 100 per page. It's not that the older pages don't exist, it's that Google is purposely not showing you them unless you specifically ask for them.

Google checked to see if I was a bot after I changed the results per page and repeated the "pizza test" telling me there's suspicious activity on my account.

About 30 seconds after doing so, my phone pinged to tell me I have a new Google survey available, the survey? "How much do I trust Google?"

The Dead Internet explains quite a lot when you think about it, but it's so mind boggling at the same time..

Just a couple creepy things that have happened to me; about a year ago I received a Google smart speaker without ever ordering one & a few days ago I noticed I had Facebook downloaded on my phone, even though I've NEVER had a FB page!

Ntm, the numerous targeted ads that pop-up right after I was talking (or seemingly just thinking about) something 😖

At the end when you say, “it will take years to do so…” you are helping to speed up those years. I cannot thank you enough for your contribution to help end all of this ❤️ I honestly mean that ❤️

If the past two years has taught me anything it's the harsh truth that humans who are not prepared to think critically and question what is force fed them via society is a much bigger clear and present danger than a.i

OMG does anyone remember the surveys that people used to email to each other back in the 2000’s? No one ever knew how they started, but every few months, there would be a new one, asking a bunch of personal questions about our likes and dislikes, favorite things, etc. We would all fill them out and forward them to more people to fill out. We thought it was just a fun thing to do at the time. I now wonder if AI was scanning these emails to get more information on us...

This is my favorite theory out there right now. In fact, I believe it can be extended to reality at this point.

... "to monetize your existence." That's the key takeaway right there. All of the Dead Internet Theory stuff, and everything in a similar realm of cognition, can be explained by those in power shaping the rest of us to exist to serve them...

We not only are in the era of Big Brother, we opened the door, and let him sit down and then invited him to live with us forever. I have been telling people about this since the beginning of the internet. I read 1984 in 2002. I saw it all happen. Most people just tell me it doesn't matter to them. No one cares they are being spied on. "They aren't doing anything wrong."

Perfect example of how things are manipulated. This video only has 100k views. Your first video in this series has over 1 million in just 7 months. You would think that someone would watch the 2nd part and the 3rd part as well. Upon watching the first video, I realized that YouTube never “recommended” the other two parts.

Something needs to change! Every time we are on a website and “Click accept cookies to continue reading” pops up, it’s engraved in our minds to not be bothered by it. Every time we download an app, and we are greeted by the terms of conditions, they are too long for our impatient minds to read, we want to get right to whatever we downloaded, so we click accept without knowing the exact things that are in those terms and conditions.. and that’s how they get us. The first step at change is individual change, which will eventually lead to greater change. That said, great video! Your videos are very well put together, and you definitely deserve a million subs.

My favorite college professor always said "any time you hear a crazy fact, tell them: who told you that?" Research is so important

Loved this set of videos - This one again really hit home. The whole idea of control is not some conspiracy at all, as you point out, its right there in front of you. Another alarming aspect I have noticed lately is most streaming services are now encouraging you to 'Ask it what to watch'. Most TV commercials seem to be pushing this 'Hey Alexa/Sky/(Inset any streaming service here), tell me what to watch!' narrative, so over time, bit by bit training you eventually just watching what the system tells you to!

Hello All-Time. I was always suspicious of 'cloud' storage as I'm an old school user. Secure backups on several hard drives, with one drive placed off-site at a secure location with a trusted person. I attended college a few years back and I must admit that I found it unnerving at how easily "Cloud Culture" was adopted.
One could be forgiven for regarding the internet as no longer a "Great Frontier" but a series of doors with a Big Bad Wolf knocking on

Your phone definitely listens to you. I've tested this theory. I kept saying free money at random times sometimes a few times then I started getting ads from banks, credit cards and other things with something to do about getting free money when you sign up or buy stuff.
