Are you thinking of switching from cow's milk to oat milk, but you're not sure if it's really worth paying double the price?

Or, maybe you're not sure if oat milk is really healthier for you than cow's milk?

Well, before you do anything, let's break down the nutritional value of each.

When it comes to protein, cow's milk is the obvious winner with 8 grams of protein per serving. Chobani Oat Drink lags behind at 2 gram of protein per serving. Some other oat milks available have even less protein.

But don't give up on oat milk yet, it has a lower amount of total sugars (7 grams) compared to the hefty 12 grams seen in cow's milk.

Or, maybe you're looking for more fiber in your diet? Oat milk may be the way to go. Fiber isn't seen in cow's milk but each serving of oat milk contains 2 grams.

Typically, both these types of milk can be fortified to include vitamin A, vitamin D, potassium, and calcium. You'll want to be sure to purchase a "fortified" oat milk that includes these vitamins and minerals.

A lot of sugar/carbs. Nutritionally better off with full cream milk rather than oat and almond milk. If she had more protein in the mix she might feel less hungry between meals and be able to cut down on the snacking.

Why not talk about the 112% calcium in normal milk which is actually NOT good for our bodies to over indulge. What about the increase in bile acidity from again indulging in cows milk? The first comparison is regarding protein which is laughable. No one has a protein deficiency, it’s not a thing. An elephant doesn’t struggle to obtain the necessary amounts of amino acids from plants nor do our closest primate ancestors.

Cows milk is for a baby cow. Human milk is for baby humans. It’s really that simple.

Oat drink is so dilute and does no exceed milk in any aspect. It also costs double here. Plastic waste for an immitation product with D2 vitamin and vegetable oil. Best of both: cook or soak oat flakes in milk, unless you're worried about carbs. The ability of oats to thicken without milk is poor. Bonus: get a kilo of useless fiber for free. A taste test was missing.
