*Me with my 12 year old used budget entry-level hardtail with a bottom end SR Suntour coil fork with 75mm of travel and only preload and a lockout:*

"Ah yes of course this is very helpful and informative thank you."

I already know how to set up my suspension, doesn't mean that I didn't just watch this whole video. You guys make the best videos ever

This is actually the best video I've seen about this topic. Short, informative and even kinda funny.

For years I haven't run anything other than full speed rebound on both my shock and fork....buuuuttt now I think about it, throughout this past season I've been bucked over the bars on jumps at least 5 times and that's a couple of times too many for my liking (a good OTB every now and then is always a good laugh for the boys). So after watching this I might actually dial it down a little bit from now on and give slower rebound a go.

I'm not sure how to feel about this. Jason has changed much. He's gotten more serious but also more sciency. It's almost like he went to MTB University.
On one hand good for him, I'm happy he's going somewhere big and growing up, I like this new Jason. But on the other hand, I miss "how to buy a mountain bike" Jason from the old days...
Oh well, it's for the best :) I'm super happy we can at least see him in special edition videos like this :')

When opening your compression to set sag don't forget to clean the piston of the shock and the stanchions on the fork and then lubricate to reduce stiction. "usually you want to be at 30% sag is mostly incorrect" for most avg riders and most trails 30% is too soft. Sag or pre-loading the springs will yield more performance from forks and shocks somewhere between 15% and 25%. Depending on experience riding style and trails. If you want to really delv in and learn about suspension dynamics and the physics behind it, Vorsprung. 👍
