I lost my job today....

Hey there,

Clark back again.

So, the goal with this channel is to be 100% real with you. That means showing all sides.

Even when it's not ideal....

You know this channel's primary focus is positivity and personal growth. But what do we do when challenges spring up? Sometimes, life does a 180 in an instant.

And that's what just happened to me....

Life got pretty real earlier this month.

I lost my job.

Yep.

I got the phone call out of the blue, and 2 min later that was it. Once my head stopped spinning, I immediately went to the journal.

But then I did something I never thought I'd do.....

I filmed myself.

Talking through this whole process out loud was a tremendous help. So let me do another thing I never thought I'd do... share it with you all. Thought this video might be too personal, but screw it. I hope it inspires you to talk about what's uncomfortable and feel vulnerable. That's where we grow the most. May this video show you that you're not alone if you freak out time to time.

Thanks for your continued support.

Stop settling, start living.

-Clark

You've come so far, Clark :)

Sounds a lot like your most recent video, I think life comes in waves and cycles. Work hard in the summer, relax and learn in the winter. Just try to make each winter better than the last.

I lost my job back in 2010, just coudn`t anymore, got sick and went down with stress. Nobody can work 60-80 hours/week.
I´ve found why I worked that much: only for show. Who need a 5 bedroom appartment in Copenhage or 2 expensive cars?
After 14 days in hospital I went to a small place my scoolfriend own for a "Sillent Vacasion".
Then I did 2 ting that I´m proud of. 6 month in France as a goat header and then I sold all I owned ( not my clothes) and startet all over again.

I work 30 hours/week now with some I like now, have a small garden where I grow veggies and a few chickkens.

I feel free and a whole lot richer. money isn´t every thing, time is.

This was never a ploy at sympathy or a poor me video - in fact, it was meant to do the opposite. The video was meant to inspire those of you who have been (or might currently be) in a similar situation.

My big take away? When life gets real, how do we handle it? It's easy to be positive and inspiring when everything in life is going well. But who we are when things aren't going to hot... that's the time we need to show up and test ourselves the most.

That's when we truly stop settling and start living!

Again, thank you.

That was a "successful" rant and you are already a success and inspire us with each video! Good luck is the start of something big!!!

I lost my job at Hewlett-Packard back in 2013. I was making what I thought was good money for a single man with no kids. I'd been there for 3 years.

I had a year's worth of money saved up. I used that to just apply for any job I could think of that paid well. Police departments.... Tech companies.... I dated a lot to take my mind off things. I played a lot of call of duty too. 😄

It took 6 months but I got a call from Google. It took me 5 interviews and a hiring review board, but I got in. I worked there for two years then realized working 98 hours a week for Google wasn't going to be a sustainable process. I'd done it for two years, and I got burned out. Plus the commute was 90 minutes one way.

After that I ended up getting a job 10 minutes away from my home that paid well.

Life is like a roller coaster. Sometimes you have to deal with ups and downs and hold on no matter what.

I hope you're doing better. Good luck man.

I really like that you decided to post this. It shows how genuine and unique you are. I can only imagine how you feel, but don't forget that there are people that appreciate all the work you put in youtube/your tips. You are impacting people, and you are doing good work. Be proud of that.

Thanks for this video. I recognize the courage it takes to post something like this in social media. I got a lot out of it. I am just writing to encourage you keep up the good work. I'm a 4 year college student, and as I continue my journey, I've found high value out of each one of your videos. Once again, Keep up the good work. You're doing Great.

I believe in you man. Always have. You shpuld never lose your confidence. As you said, you do have a lot of potential. You just haven't fulfilled it yet. In the entrepreneurship world, you also need a little luck (which usually comes your way because you know the right people.) From my perspective, you have been really unlucky ith your projects so far. Don't let this stop you from working as hard as you always do, but keep on believing in yourself and you WILL SUCCEED. Love you brother.

Think positively. Think Positively. Think Positively. Think Positively. You unknowingly helped me when I needed it the most so now maybe it's my payback stranger. I left my spouse when he hit me twice in the face and made me bleed and this is the person that I loved the most in life and I came into the United States with him and I had no family and friends here and I placed what I could on my backpack and walked out into the cold streets of New York City not knowing where was I going to sleep that night and around there I heard your blog and now I'm living in a very nice apartment in a good neighborhood and I have a good job and I live in peace. Thank you.

My position was eliminated in December of 2014, right before Christmas. I spent 1 day totally stunned, then, the next day I made a list of things I had been wanting to do and hadn't had the time or, hadn't took the time. The first thing was to have a cup of coffee down by the water I lived by, first thing in the morning. Take some time to grieve and do little things and even bigger things that make your day brighter! It's in these moments where answers come, if we can just sit back, relax and receive. You are awesome! Keep it up! You are wise beyond your years!!!

Thank you Clark for writing this. We are kindred spirits that's for sure. I have SO many of the same thoughts as a 23 year old just starting my own nutrition business. I feel you on EVERYTHING you are talking about. Wish we lived nearby each other we would have so much to talk about! I will 100% purchase your journal!

I've lost my job recently, Clark! It's understandable to feel broken up with. I did too. Do your best! Plan and don't worry too much. Also, I understand what you mean about being afraid to "ask for money". I fear that too, but it's OK! The worst that can happen is people will say no.
