We had already limited pacifier to nap/bedtime for a while, but our 3.5 yr old still periodically woke in the night panicked cuz he couldn’t find it, and it was his first request if he hurt himself, so we were dreading the process of getting complete rid of the pacifier for months. But after watching your video, we were inspired. We set a date, let him pick out his new glowing stuffy for night time, and on the big day he said goodbye to pacifier! We are now one week with no pacifier, and besides a little confusion the first night, no tears, no fuss, bed time same as always! Thank you!

Thank you for this! Any tips on what to do if they cry at night without pacifiers and constantly wake up? My daughter will be 3 in September and she only has it during naps and nighttime but I’m terrified of sleepless nights for us without it!

Love this video thanks for providing some
Tips for us. Question is my son is 15 months and he only uses pacifiers for nap and night sleep. I think he depends on it for actually staying asleep. How was your daughter’s sleep after removing the pacifier?

I watched this last week but wish I saw this video when my son was in the right window. My son is 18 months now and operation “getting rid of pacifier” is currently in motion! I followed all your tips. Let’s see how this goes! So far so good. He’s currently just playing with his teddies lol

Thanks so much for this! We're at 10 months now, so probably missed that infant window. Gonna tuck this video away for later on.

I like this approach. But of course I am having huge anxiety about taking it away. My 2 year old doesn't know how to self soothe without the pacifier. She will have it for naps and bedtime. But she will look for it throughout the day and have it on. I'll try to wean her off of it throughout the day. I'm just so concerned about her not being able to fall asleep without it.

I'm not a Mom; but one day when I become a Mom I want to gently do this, if I did this the old school way I would regret seeing, and hearing my child cry about it.

can you give tips on thumb sucking? I think I've tried everything, and I fear my 2yo may ruin his dentition 😟

Hello, we plan on weaning my 2 year old daughter over labor day weekend. She already sleeps with 5 stuff animals and a lovey. Should we cut back on those animals and get a new one?

What are your thoughts on weaning them off by cutting the paci little by little every day/every other day? It takes more time but I feel like it's easier especially for babies that are past the infant stage but not quite old enough to understand you telling them the paci has to go (say, for example a 12 mo old)??

It’s been one week since we cut it out cold turkey and now my 15 month old won’t nap and I can’t put her down to sleep like before. Wish I watched your video before getting rid of it. My baby is very sad about it ..

I'm sorry but I don't think my girl is gonna be so easily swayed. She's 2.5 now and I know I should have done this a long time ago but she is very head strong and thinks she runs the show. I thought just throwing it away on the sly and saying I couldn't find it and having us look for it would be the best option but I'm going to try this throw away ceremony. Pray for us.

She's using the bottles as a replacement, is it a bad idea to drop bottles too? We have those cups with the sipping part + straw bottles and she uses them @crèche.

Girl crying hard for everything and her dad saying I'm being mean. And that it's too much but!!!! She wakes up 3-4 times at night crying for milk now we have her feeding through the night which is a bad habit... cz she sleeps right after.

Nun of my kids are going to get that thing again i hate this process.
