There is nothing wrong with what Olivia said however she is referring to REAL threats (ie: existential threats to life and well being )made by predators, human or otherwise. Men are wired to protect and fight, often dying in the process. However, those situations are rare unless you live in a war zone or failed state. What usually happens is that women expect dudes to defend their honor in petty confrontations. These petty confrontations carry the same potential existential penalty for those involved. For example, I used to date this beautiful woman who used to love to go out wearing next to nothing. Tight dress, no bra or underwear. She always accused me of trying to control her when I asked her to either wear something else or put a jacket or sweater on. She never understood that she put both of us at risk and I would be the one expected to pay the price!
