To me, hearing someone saying "When you get older" is the same thing as a ghost saying "When you die."

It was hideous as my parents didn't take me seriously, and even punishing me, for suggestions and critics I provided as I was younger. I plan on taking my kids seriously when I have them.

Something I noticed that makes me insanely angry is when older people genuinely think they get to MISTREAT or DISRESPECT, or even take advantage of and ABUSE others simply because they’re older than someone. I think it’s a disgusting and extremely unhealthy mentality and needs to be stopped. Now I absolutely understand ‘earned respect, ’ but what I cannot tolerate is actually mistreatment and DISrespect simply because someone is older than me.

The fact that Adults are being offended at this to go after the comment section of this video is really a dead giveaway to who they really are. If your going to offend someone, do it without hiding behind your electronic screens.

Some adults are so annoying. They think they're the master of maturity. And I so much hated them bragging thier experiences. Sometimes when you get to age like them. You'll see some revelations of thier intentions when you we're young. Either, they wanted to drag you down just like them or they're really giving you a great advise.

I can't stand when people use age or "How old are you?" as an insult and/or discredit someone.

Being a child was sickening. As far as adults were concerned I didn't know anything; except when they wanted something from me or wanted to punish me.

I’ve had a bad experience with this. At 24, I became a manager of an aquatic facility, where we had a lot of seniors come swim at the pool. But higher management required all staff, including me, to wear the same uniform, so I looked like one of the lifeguards. And it didn’t help that I look very young, and am a little smaller than the average person. So one day, this older man comes to swim, and does not abide by one of our rules. He argues with the lifeguards, then they come get me. But he doesn’t even talk to me, and continues to break the rule. He doesn’t even acknowledge the fact that I tell him I am the manager, or standing right in front of him. I go get one of the security guards, who is wearing a polo, and slacks, and is a little older and a larger person than me. The old man talks to him without any problem, and even apologizes for breaking the rule! He then goes to say he didn’t talk to me because I look too young to be a manager. I was outraged because this man specifically chose not to listen to me just because of how young I was!

People logic: Ageism is elderism not youngism.

Elderism and youngism are both ageism.

We have to look at the fact that teenagers brains are mostly developed and we keep making it seem like their 2

My mom told me that “minors have no rights”. So you heard it here folks. The constitution means nothing to you if you’re 17 or younger.

When I was young i faced sexism, racism, and youngism ... plus I was poor....and faced discrimination in education, at work, in religious groups, and socially e.g. sports. What really helps is mobility so you can find people who like you and appreciate you. It is more often than not a waste of time and resources trying to get people who hate you to change their minds and then like you... rather it is easier to set up relationship with people who going to like and appreciate what you can do from the very start . That is to say adversarial games and relationship have a very high cost and unless there is a big benefit /payoff to them - they are not worth it. Cooperative games and favorable relationships have a lower cost and work best when they are repeatable and persistently valuable... even more important when you are young you need to be able to identify personality disorders that can make certain people dangerous or difficult to be around... so you can minimize your risk of getting hurt by them.
