Review: 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring

I spend a week with the 2023 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring to see what it's like to live with the 11th gen Accord. With a hybrid-heavy lineup for this new generation, the 2023 Accord focuses on an improved hybrid experience compared to the last generation and combines it with best-in-class comfort and amenities in my opinion. Overall, it retains it's crown as one of the nicest driving and most refined midsize sedans in the segment and while some of the excitement of the old 2.0T is lost, the 2023 Accord Hybrid should please the mainstream buyer even more than before. What do you think about the 2023 Honda Accord? Thanks to Honda for providing this vehicle to review!

You're the ONE AND ONLY car reviewer who actually commented on the usefulness of this accord's ventilated seats. Thanks, this is worth verifying

Great review Matt. I owned a 2019 Accord and couldn’t get over how much back seat space it had, great for adult passengers and for child car seats! Honda Accord is a fantastic versatile sedan.

I'm just glad you're still alive Accord.

Awesome review Matt! Sucks that Honda first got rid of the Legendary J35 V6, and now they got rid of the 2.0T. Wish Honda kept the 2.0T.

It’s cool but I think I prefer the previous Gen. New Gen civic looks better than this imo. Good review as always!

I have a 2021, 10th Gen 2.0T Touring and I absolutely love the car! No issues at all! Every time I get my service done at the Honda dealership they offer to buy my car! Apparently, the 2.0T’s are highly desirable right now. I will admit, the new accord is starting to grow on me. I’ll have to test drive a touring model to see if I like it! Only two colors I would consider are urban gray and lunar silver.

Hello, Matt. Thanks for this great video and all the information you've given. The video was granular, which I like. For instance, no other reviewer has talked about the poor ventilation of the seats for the HVAC. I have the 2023 Accord EX-L, which has been excellent in every way.

I get it that Honda is trying to please the green crowd by making hybrids but the 10th generation Accord styling and the powerful 2.0 liter engine producing 252HP is an astonishing car with delightful driving characteristics that will be a sought after classic.

Great review as always Matt. I think that if I could have this interior in the last gen with the 2.0t I'd be a pretty happy camper. The hybrid system seems to yeild pretty decent economy while not being a bore to drive.

Great review, but that car sounds LOUD with road and wind noise. Also, I like that you highlighted the new safety cage in the Accord, most reviewers skip that part. It’s shocking it’s taken auto manufacturers this long to get passenger cars to adopt to large vehicles when they are the ones making them.

I had a 2016 Honda Accord Sport and it was one of my favorite cars ever. 19" road wheels it handled great yet drove smooth and quiet! Only $25, 000.00

Great comment on crash safety and structure refinement. It paid off with the new Accord. The only sedan that got a good rating in the new IIHS moderate crash test that measures rear seat safety

I feel like this is going to be like the Honda Ridgline. Everyone is going to hate it but the ones who own it will love it.

Idk why everyone wants to trash this just for not having the Type R engine. The car does the job for what it's supposed to be. The Accord was always a car that gets you to point A to point B reliably.

Previous gen is where Accord styling peaked.

Thank you SO VERY MUCH for being honest about the actual impact of ventilated seats. That really helps me as a shopper. ❤

Matt I totally agree with you. This is a better car than the previous generation, however there are two things I personally do not like and that’s the honeycomb vent and the location of the 12 inch display. This has become so obstructive in cars. And last but not least, I would gladly swap the heads up display for a heated steering wheel which can be a dealbreaker for some. That said I am totally happy with Legacy Touring XT that left no option off the table. You are doing a great job Matt.

Enjoy your reviews and thanks for putting in all the effort. A couple of notes: when in sport mode, the engine acceleration sound is simulated and piped through the audio system. Also, do not buy this car if you drive a lot of highway miles. With the 19 inch wheels and stock tires, there is a lot of road noise entering the cabin. You also feel every bump in the road. Honda really dropped the ball on noise and ride mitigation with this model (I’m about 1300 miles into a 2024 hybrid touring). Researching everything I can to improve the ride. Best advice I’m hearing is dropping down to either 17 or 18 inch wheels and replacing the tires. Happy with other aspects of the car, and a previous owner of a 2015 Accord EX-L

Can you please show the whole start up sequence when you start the car? Thanks.
