Our Kare kare has boiled puso ng saging in it. And we use ground peanut which is toasted first for more aroma. And the rice is also toasted before grounded also then added to the pot.

My fave variant of Kare Kare is the Seafood Kare Kare. Somehow the shrimp, mussels and octopus go so well with peanut butter

I love this dish and I make it in different versions too. Other then ox tail i like using pig feet which is so so yummy

It's my favorite too. Sadly, I've seen foreign youtubers eat it the wrong way why they did not like it. One dumped the entire Bagoong serving on the Kare-kare, and the other did not use it at all. Kare-kare is not that good without Bagoong!
