Nice job...I'm surprised the tunnel vision marathon is allowed to be a Boston qualifier considering the elevation is massively downhill with a 2000' net descent. Considering Philly has 846' total ascent and Austin 591' ascent, a 3:05 in Austin is probably equivalent to a 2:55 at tunnel vision.

That was a really impressive improvement from your first and second marathons!

That's awesome. Keep up the good work! I attempted my 1st marathon in 1991, in Atlantic City NJ, during a noreaster and collapsed after crawling just past 25 miles. I finished the following year (same course) in 3:49. I ran 3 more after that w a 3:22:11 PR.. I just turned 50 and am training for my fifth now. Been studying the Kenyans and NN running team. I will do it in 2023.

Great job! I’m not a Covid runner started a week before Covid hit but have had great success in high school cross country since then like you have in marathons.

Just about to run my first one at the end of October, The Dublin marathon, currently on my 16th week of training and I finally have my diet on point, excess fat is falling off and my runs are getting faster while my heart rate is still staying around the 150 mark at a 5.20 per km pace. Can't wait for race day😊 best of luck to everyone and their journey 👍🍀

Knowing what you know now, do you look back on that first marathon and think “man, I didn’t know anything compared to what know now?”

Please, please, please make a video about injuries! I see people ignore the signs and quit running after a serious injury. Myself included I almost gave up after foot surgery.

3:55 for a first marathon is quite fast. I’ve been running for 8 months, i my longest run to date was 24km. The idea of running over 4 hours terrifies me 🫠 I’m hoping to train at altitude to get my fitness up & see what happens
