No way, I thought I saw you running the other day but wasn't sure (also didn't want to disturb your run). Just wanted to say that your dumbbell and bodyweight workouts have helped me so much this lockdown (especially with the gyms shut). Thank

I'm switching from bodybuilding to running too (endurance). Since lockdown i've had to adapt... adapt or die. But my body feels much better with mostly bodyweight and running. Training like an athlete and eating like one has been a game changer for me. Hard at the beginning... my body was tight... i'm doing a lot of stretching, yoga, mobility and self massage to loosen up my body, and constantly improving my running form. I'm getting better everyday. I've enjoyed bodybuilding but it's time to move on, and i'm glad to have made the change a now have a new challenge. I'll enjoy watching your progress as I chart mine. Good luck.

Awesome. I took up running last year when the gyms closed down. I still have my home gym but my focus on weightlifting is over. I completed two half marathons last year and I'm running a full marathon in May.

Keep defying all the odds bro! I've been a triathlete for year and I shock many folks being black and a swimmer and on top of that used to be 200lbs plus.

Hey Obi, if you're going to increase your running leading up to the triathlon, its generally recommended not to increase weekly mileage by more than 10-15%, and repeating or reducing the mileage 1 week every 3-4 (a bit like a deload).
Last year I made that mistake, increasing too quickly, having focused on weightlifting for a long time, and got injured... sorry to put a downer on it, just thought i'd share.

I keep my workouts foundational and functional. Starting my fitness since last 2 years ago. I am doing interval training for my runs. I cannot run the fastest like the marathon athletes. However I can run the longest. I made my first 5k in 35 minutes, this is not a loop or virtual run. I still need to advance but I am getting there.

New challenges are awesome. Running for a big dude like you cannot be easy. Easy way to run faster without letting your mind interfere is when you do start to get tired and then more and more tired don't think about running faster but think about moving your arms faster. Since it is all connected you will run faster but more importantly it is much, much easier to wrap your head around moving the arms faster rather than the legs that are burning. Good luck on your new venture!

You'll get there...I abs hated running @ school, now in 5os abs love it run 5km, 10km half marathons.
Don't worry about smashing it + running fast everytime! I did this injured myself🙄Try to build your aerobic base 80% of training time eg nice and steady consistence( watch your times come down) 20% sprinkles on the top threshold, intervals, strides fast stuff.Follow a plan is also helpful to run with a focus.Enjoy your fun running journey 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏋️🎊👍🏼

24 or under for 5k is goood!! 👏🏽 I do weight training and running ... running definitely takes more motivation but the feeling after is great .. especially if you beat your usual time. Technique is also a big thing I’m trying to nail.. but usually I forget once in breathless. 😂🤷🏽‍♀️ Picking the pace up during last couple of k is also a biggie .

Swimming is great!!
