Theres no way they could convince Truman with some excuse after having some ridiculously large search party after him on like a minutes notice. This just solidified his paranoia.

The way the director has everyone walk in a line so close together, as if they’re a gestapo or body snatchers. And how they all are inhumanly frozen when waiting for their cue. Everything about this movie is subtext.

The ultra sad part noone talks about is after Truman leaves, this doesn't change how rich, successful
or powerful the director is. Truman Show was such a huge success there is nothing stopping him
from just getting another baby, and starting a new show, a season 2 and doing it to someone else. He could do it the very next day
before the Truman Show is even cold.

Cue the sun? You’re telling me Truman had never felt real sunlight in his entire life.

I can’t imagine the ptsd this man has even in the real world probably always gonna be afraid someone is watching him

"It's way too early for that"

You just used the moon as a fucking spotlight, I think your goose is cooked at this point.

Never noticed before, but even the siren plays like it's a prisoner who escaped, not the star of the most popular show in history.

His “parents” would have to be sociopaths to literally raise him and feel zero parental attachment to him. You can’t fake the actual love Truman would’ve felt for them. No human could be around a kid and watch them learn and grow their entire lives and feel…nothing. I can get the director having a God complex at least.

Would still love to hear a group of lawyers and judges on what they could get Truman for false imprisonment exploitation and whatever else they could come up with

3:16 The guy in the black clothes with the bike at the bottom of frame is Truman in a deleted scene. He's walking around town pretending to be an extra. I'm glad it was removed, since the canon plot implies he had been planning to take the boat and knew what he was doing, leaving us in suspense, rather than having Truman try and fail to bike the bridge and only using the boat as a backup. It better shows that he had conquered his fears.

4:42 this scene is so memorable for me. This actor played such a smart guy and knew what he was doing. He was the best guy for this.

I noticed the dog wasn’t his usual happy self and was snarling and angry. I think thats a subtle sign of the true emotions of the actors on the show. They’re bloodthirsty and will do anything to subdue Truman.

Sadly, none of the family cast tried to help Truman. Not his dad. Not his mom. Not even his best friend.

“The media is having a feeding frenzy with this. The phone lines are jammed and every network has a pirated shot of Marlin making an ass of himself in front of the camera.”

That’s small potatoes compared to what the (social) media would do if this happened today.

"Before we begin, I'd like to thank you on behalf of our audience for granting this exclusive interview. We know how demanding your schedule is and we all know how jealously you guard your privacy."

I always roll my eyes at that part.

Quick! Everyone link arms and walk in straight lines, that's how we'll find him!

The second the sky went from night to day and that music played, I got goosebumps. The way all these people who seemed like regular people filed around in perfect single file. The tame dalmatian turning full blood hound. Everything that had seemed real to Truman at first appeared real to us as well, even though we knew the truth. But the freaking sky just being turned on and reality cracking open out of nowhere made it immense. Coupled with that joyous but somehow disturbed flute music. This scene always gives me chills. It's just so well constructed.

What’s amazing about this, is having people acting like monsters looking for him is the WORSE possible what they could have been looking for a man who was scared.
