On the morning of Election Day 2016, Americans of all stripes woke up and went about living their radically different lives. These were the hours leading up to Donald Trump's unexpected, earth-shaking victory, but, of course, no one knew that yet.

With 11/8/16, producer/creator Jeff Deutchman's second installment in his election film series, viewers are afforded a uniquely cinematic look at the chaotic glory of American democracy from sea to shining sea. Featuring footage captured by a carefully curated group of some of America's finest documentary filmmakers, 11/8/16 follows sixteen subjects spanning the country's geographic, socioeconomic and political divides through the course of that history-altering day. 11/8/16 was an election unlike any other. 11/8/16 brings us back to that day with the immediacy of great nonfiction filmmaking, and shows the vibrant directness how life happens as history is being made.

Now in theaters, on digital and on demand.

I hate how poisonous the comments are on this video. I thought the documentary was a good, nuanced look at the voting population of the country. The Trump supporters definitely weren't presented in a negative light.

I love watching this even now. The smugness of these people...the lack of a backbone is even more hilarious. The president doesn't change the trajectory of your life. YOU DO!

9:18 "It took me and people of color a long time to get the right to vote". I think it took this "victim" exactly 18 years to vote. The same exact time that it took for damn near every single voter alive today. People can learn a lot from the Cuban dude (The Vet), I may not agree with every word he said, but he makes enough sense that he deserves to be listened to very closely. He seems extremely empathetic and very open minded. He should run for office. Either way, I hope everything works out for him. He seems like a good man.

She thinks she now knows the level of hatred for feminists in this country. 🤣 You have no idea, woman.

Why didn't you interview Bernie supporters?

FYI: If you watch the trailer to the first film, Gina was voting for Hillary and it was her husband who owned the business that voted for Trump. So why are you showing her as a Trump voter?

Wow, discouraging (the first half so far). How can anybody miss the days of Bush?
Did anybody complain about the corruption -- in our workplaces, in government, etc?

To Gina, America stopped being great when we elected a so-called celebrity in Clinton to the White House. Celebrity actor Ronald Reagan had been President 5 years before.

What's with the inclusion of an elderly Communist? He sticks out here like a sore thumb.
