Burpees absolutly boosted my cardio and VO2 max to unreal levels. High rep full versions (jump at the top). I find it crazy how people dont mention them. I beg any athlete to implement high volumes of them into their regime for a few months you will feel insane difference. Im talking literally pro level difference

Burpees + Box + Jump Rope ( + Swimming if possible ) = Cardio machine, plus is extremely fun.

Burpees underrated as fuck for cardio and VO2max

i found this out the hard way, I used to box "A LOT" I was obsessed with boxing, I used to spar everyday for 12 rounds or more ( light sparring but intense) and after you break 8 rounds, u can go forever, as with running. But one time I joined the track team at my local college (Mt Sac). I never ran so much, probably 20 miles a week tops. anyway, a few months later I went back to the boxing Gym, and I couldn't even do 3 rounds without gassing. I think sparing is the most important thing to increase endurance and sprinting over jogging. 3 miles is enough. Most of your endurance comes from sparring.

This has also improved my sex stamina performance! I've shaved off a whole minute from my 3 minute bust pace to 2 minutes

Not a MMA athlete but I'm a rugby player. Doing Sprint intervals and burpees got my stamina up. Having great stamina made the games wayyy better. While the other guys are getting gassed I'd still be fresh and able to expose these guys that were tired

Padwork helps a ton too, in my opinion, its better than running. Padwork + jump rope

I'm a really heavy guy. Roadwork and ropes are really rough on my feet and ankles. Basic double leg takedowns are awkward because my feet are so messed up. Lost my last fight basically due to cardio.

Swimming is my only option at this point. I hope to get started soon. Also quit smoking recently.

Biking + Running + Swiming is a blessing

5 minute clock: every 30 seconds do 5 jump squats, Shadowbox for active recovery until the next 30 seconds. After that, do the same thing but replace jump squat with plyo pushups… Repeat for 4 rounds then run a 10 minute cool-down jog

This is literally my problem. I haven't been going to sparring for the last two months because I would go there and either get tired in the first minute of the round, or I pace myself... Either way, I'm not properly practicing my technique, which is the point of it. I spend so much time being defensive and reactive because I'm afraid to gas out. Also, I basically just hold clinches against the cage without any attempts to advance my position.

So, I've been spending the last two months doing sprints, trying to get my cardio up.

Very informative, I'm gonna take some of this advice to heart

2:53 seven minute miles are not “really bad” - I guess it depends how long your sustaining them for. At my fastest I was doing 7:30 over a 10k. Granted I’m in my mid-30’s, but sustained 7 minute miles is quick

There's a lot more that goes into endurance training guys, it's not as simple as he explains it, it'll benefit for sure but you gotta understand there are different physiological adaptations to different endurance training modalities (aerobic and anaerobic), different changes in the circulatory system, skeletal muscular system, and resipratory system performance. Then, there's even more things to consider like when to do it, how it'll affect strength, power, hypertrophy training, correct nutrition and fueling, movement pattern economy, and sport specific needs like energy systems, and specific movement patterns. Conditioning for Grappling would and should definitely be different from Stand up if you want to optimize.

Love the stuff, really needed this after my 4th fight I knocked out my opponent in the fight however my cardio is still a WIP, my conditioning was wrong since I only improved my Aerobic I didn't do lots of sprints and easy runs which taught me a lot! nevertheless this video is a great help, keep up the lovely contents! Osss!
