I love hanna checkers, I have all of them. Hands down best meters for my reef. I see people saying they dont have enough time. Well easy solution is, once u get all those checkers you will have extra vials. What I do is keep one vial with tank water and use it for all meters and then I just add all the reagents to their vials, after I have everything ready in my vials I start testing.

You should wipe the cuvette with a microfibre cloth to remove any finger prints and stains because it will definitely affect the reading. Also always position the cuvette the same way (f.e. the 10 ml mark facing forward).

That's exactly how I use mine. By far the easiest checker on the market in my opinion

Hi James! Thanks for watching. It's actually difficult to recollect since we created this video a couple of years ago. Sorry about that!

it comes with two cuvettes, fill both to the 5ml line, add reagent to the other and shake till dissolved, insert unreacted cuvette into tester, press button, when you see add c2, switch the two cuvettes, i.e. place the reacted sample into the tester, then press the button again.

I just started using this checker. My biggest issue is the time it takes to add the reagent, mix it completely and then test. If you take longer than 3 minutes to complete the above, you are screwed because the checker will shut down and the test is worthless.Hanna should fix this by making the self shut down longer. Even 4 minutes would help.

Even better would be to have the reagent be liquid. I mix for 2 minutes and the reagent is NOT completely dissolved.

Why cant they make this in a liquid form I love api because they come with a carry case and a handel. I have both my reef kit and my master saltwater all in the case and I can carry it to the 3 rooms have tanks in.. but like nitrites it goes from 0 to 5.0 and phospates 0 to .25. So I really have no idea where y levels are as far as being a low nutrient system. I know I am not zeo and not darker than the first option

it, has an accuracy of 0.05 ppm, so your PO4 is not 0.04, that menas it could be 0.09 or 0.00 in this case, imo not the greateast accuracy for 50 bucks ...

Has anyone come up with a creative solution to adding the reagent into the test tube without always spilling some?

Mate, you are not using the reagent properly. I used to put the reagent in the tube like you and was never sure that I got all the reagent in the tube. You are doing it wrong. Read the instrucions please!
the cut line for the scissors is along 2 sides not one, and is indicated with graphics on the sachet. There is a reason they do that

I always get 0.00 readings when I run this test. Although my other 2 phosphates testers show readings of 0.04-0.05. And I know I have phosphates since it is a new tank. I have a similar problem with my hanna calcium checker where I always get 600 no matter what despite the fact that's around 400. I thought I give hanna a go and get more checkers depending on how much I like these 2 (calcium and phosphates) but I dont think it is worth the money. The typical red sea / DD etc testers are cheaper and in most cases accurate as well as easier to do. Shame....

Whats the reagent used here and which is the best reagent?

I get very consistent readingsfrom all my hanna testers. Maybe you have a human error condition.
