Quick video after my engine failure. Pulled the head and blower and you can see the broken rings and liner ports in the airbox. This failure happened very fast with very little warning. I'll be pulling the engine apart, then ordering a new overhaul kit once everything is cleaned, inspected and measured.

at least with the Detroit its an easy in-frame rebuild. too bad with the Ford, the body still has to come off to do it! :)

can't wait to see this build come back stronger

Please excuse my ignorance here, but I had a question if you have a moment to share some knowledge. At 1:04, I see a piston liner with intake ports that look damaged, or rather, completely separated from the rest of the liner. In an event such as this, what keeps any metallic debris from entering the cylinder and damaging the exhaust valves/combustion chamber? Likewise, is there no debris that enters the crankcase and possibly enters to oil? Just trying to understand why damage such as this does not scrap the head and\or block.
Thanks for your time, best of luck with the rebuild, and keep up the good work!
