Webasto TSL17 hot start at 140 degrees. This unit will keep the coolant temp between 140-170 degrees F. I'll eventually get a remote start for it and tie it into my cab fan. At the moment it's just a basic on and off switch that starts it.:)

Icing on the cake for a fine truck! Those things are great. I have one connected to the ductwork in my rv. Have to keep it on the lowest setting or else it'll run me out. I live in the rv a lot when out on remote jobs and it does a great job even at -20 F. It might use a gallon of diesel in 24 hours if it's run full bore. Greetings from Alaska.

I think the Webasto is fantastic. Perfect when you're going to be somewhere and can't plug in the pan and block heaters. I'm curious how long it will take to go from -15 F to 140F, not that you would need it 140F to start, just curious. With as tight as this new engine is, it should start relatively easy unaided to at least 40F I would think.

Interesting heating system. How much does it draw from the batteries?

How are you liking the Webasto now that you've had it installed for a couple months? How are the winter starts going for you with the 4-53?

So, what did you get the 453-t engine out of? On one of the last videos, I saw the top of the engine and it looks nothing like any 453-t I've ever seen ( on the interwebs.) is there a cover over it?
