Quick video of my 4-53T in a 2009 Ford F350. Just running the last tests before I send out the driveshafts and pull the engine for paint.

Super impressed! Taking a very non -computerized engine and making it work in a modern, very computer dependant vehicle-big time kudos!

This is by far the cleanest Detroit swap i have seen, and one of the best swaps i've seen of any kind. Aesthetically it is a factory looking installation, great work. Just out of curiosity, did the 6.4 go boom leading to this swap or??? Lol

I used to rebuild these for the rail road hear in KY. Back in 2000 2001 I could get a good rebuild able for 500 bucks and now of course I want one can't find a deal period

How much power are you losing compared to the stock engine? Is the 2 stroke Detroit Diesel more reliable than a 4 stroke diesel?

Is the 4-53t heavier than the original engine?

Why detroit diesel are making a come back! SIMPLE, no DEF, no computers, only 120 bucks per hole for wet sleave, rings and pistons. Injectors on ebay for 89 bucks, fuel pump rebuild kit 50 bucks. And these detroits will run used oil, hydraulic fluid, and even paint thinner. Cheap to maintain.
