Rajma chawal although is very common across India, Pak and Nepal but is regarded as a very famous 'Dogri Dish'. Dogri culture is the culture of Jammu. People living in both hills and plains of jammu belong to Dogri culture and are commonly known as 'Dogras'.
Rajma Chawal holds a special status in Dogri Dishes and is one of the best known food items since time immemorial. Jammu is famous for its ethnic Rajma Chawal recipe which is followed in other parts of the division including Bhaderwah, kishtwar, etc.
