After seeing ex nfl players suing the league and hearing some players say they won't let thier kids play, plus seeing Gov Jerry Brown from CA signed into law AB 2127, which prohibits football teams at middle and high schools from holding full-contact practices that exceed 90 minutes on a single day, bans teams from holding more than two full-contact practices per riisk it, It's a brutal game and there are no winners when their careers are over..

A lot of young men and women are willing to take big risks because in your teens you just aren't mentally the same as you are in your 30's. That's why parents still need to exercise some guidance at that age. For example, I do not think that most 18-25 year old men should ride a motorcycle. Their lack of road experience, undeveloped survival instinct, unabated ego, and lack of impulse control make a dangerous activity even more so. Now in my 50's and riding a motorcycle, I look back at how I was and realize this.

Of course teen guys want to play football. The parents need to realize the risks though and explain them to the kid and then make an informed decision. Most kids will get through four years of high school football ok.

Football would be better without playing with gear because with gear it hurts more.
