In an age where the steps of the cognitive process are under ever increasing pressure to be quantified, Alex Elliot Lockhart proposes returning to a simpler approach. Through play, we can allow children to achieve flow by exploring the world on their own terms.

The intro animation was produced as a collaboration between TEDxBasel and the Hochschule Luzern. This animation was created by Loïc Kreyden and Valentine Moser.

Hi! I am an occupational therapist by trade in the US. I am also a 2 timer on this very stage. Your talk is great. It raises an important issue in many societies today. I am hoping my occupational therapy colleagues will take note and hope to present one day on this topic, too.

Inspirational talk, incredible ideas. A thought provoking speech. I will take this with me all my days as I work with kids .

I really do like his view on the matter of child play, but the problem is that you as a parent are to blame when anything happens to your (or someone else's) child when they are (or should be) under your supervision.
