I am just learning about what a CRM is today. I am about to hire my first marketing manager and I will ask her if she has used a CRM. I have never needed marketing because I run a small rural medical practice and we have gotten all our business by word of mouth. But we are expanding and may now need a CRM.

Hi, Tom in OKC here. I subscribed. I'm retired and have started a one man appliance company. Mostly I buy. refurb, and sell used appliances. *I've discovered that I need a relational CRM tool.* For example... Yesterday I went to Norman (8 miles), and bought a good used Amana washer from a homeowner guy; I intend to refurb and resell, upsell, cross-sell, it to some new customer. The guy started asking buying questions about a used refrigerator. He asked for my card. It dawned on me, I don't have a CRM approach at all in my operation. Ashamed and embarrassed at myself. I have begun to desperately look for a CRM relational model that will fit my one man retirement operation. In the past, I always counted on my corporate masters to make those decisions. I just plugged in and played the game. Now, old, cast aside, However, I am still wanting to work and sell (I'm a Type A), I have found that flipping appliances is easy, fun and addictive. And keeps me lean, fit and healthy.
