Two things that helped me enormously. Mouth taping. And waking up without an alarm clock.

Glycine 3 grams. That's it! And just have one strong coffee in the morning for the entirety of the day because caffeine has a long half life and the older you are the more it will mess with your sleep and as you age the less you will be able to tolerate it. Those are actually scientific facts. Young people get addicted to caffeine all day because they can tolerate it but then it causes so much anxiety, anger and so forth.

I’m so happy these things are being discussed. I did research on antiglycation processes using the amyloid and tau protein model. I also wanted state that CSF flow and glymphatic systems were well recognized in the specialty of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine for well over 3-4 decades as the techniques used were dependent on this anatomical and physiological models of brain and spinal cord structure and function relationships. At a conference in 2017, the researcher presented his work at our conference since it was a natural home for the application of glymphatic research.
On another front, our societal systems of work and career, are absolutely oppositional for sleep hygiene. What hasn’t been discussed is the way to approach sleeping appropriately when there are no limits on work or shift variation, etc.
solutions are not effective if they are not applicable.

Split phase sleep, the historical record and research indicate we are actually biologically evolve to do split-faced sleep, 4 hours, up for half an hour to an hour and then another 4 hours.
BBC has done several programs on this and there are other sources as well.

So the question is "some people may worry that they wake up in the middle of the night and then go back to sleep again, so are some sleep researchers treating this as if it's detrimental, instead of how we're supposed to sleep?

Zinc is a crucial mineral that helps regulate sleep by stimulating adenosine release and producing neurotransmitters like dopamine, serotonin, melatonin, and glutamate.
Throughout the day, adenosine levels increase in the brain, leading to the initiation of sleepiness. Zinc is crucial in regulating adenosine metabolism and subsequently helps to improve sleep quality.

My body will not allow me to sleep more than 4 hours. It takes a minimum of two hours to unwind my mind to even beging to relax enough to try going to sleep. Falling asleep is difficult, staying asleep is unpredictable, and I can't go back to sleep once i wake up. This has been my story for nearly two decades. I'm 54 and desperately want to sleep 6-8 hours.

Liquid death in the backgound? New sponsor? 😂 are you going to interview The Deep (from The Boyz) as liquid death ambassador! Would love to see that interview. The Deep really is an intellectual powerhouse after all. Got to say that I am pretty sceptical about liquid death, little bit green washing? Metal might be more recyclable than plastic, but not sure of the overall impact with mining and reforging the cans.. not sure. Surely a glass of water would be much better for the planet? Anyway, enjoyed the interview. Keep up the good work!

There is a ton to unpack here. I had to stop and research several times. Yes, its product targeted but the information is invaluable. I think the approach the product takes would be viable for acute application for those with deeper pockets than mine. Regardless, it sounds like a lot of work has gone into it. I learned a lot. Thanks!
