Over the past year, I have stopped buying eyeshadow palettes. I've switched to creams and use my bronzer for depth. I've stopped wasting money on lash & eyeshadow primers; they either didn't work on me or I didn't appreciate the effect. The final item I've stopped buying is eye creams. Now I use a specific serum and whatever moisturizer I use on my face.

Your list was great food for thought. I have used nail polish like junk food. I change it every third day. It's a small joy in quarantine.

Agree with many of these Sanni! Did you mention that favorite perfume? I’m not buying primers as they really don’t do much. Also no more eyeshadow palettes. I’ve been wearing cream and crayons more as they are easy to apply and blend. Moving to CC and BB creams as I don’t like the feel of foundations. Thanks for this candid video. I think being in lockdown and/or a pared down life means we are re-evaluating what’s important ❤️🇨🇦.

Well lock down has shown me that I had so much product in the house, I didn't have to go to the store for much. Going forward I will be on a replace only with my beauty products for sure. I too no longer buy nail polish and liquid lipsticks. I haven't bought makeup in two years which I am proud of. I have so much and I am not needed to replace anything except mascara. I will try the Glossier one. I love seeing your videos popl up . You are wonderful!

Nice topic. I stopped buying scrubs. I use a dry brush and some hemp pads for body scrubbing and a konjac sponge for my face. My face never loved the grainy exfoliators and some were also hard to identify as to whether they had micro beads in them (bad for the environment).

I’m no longer buying products that promise a perfect cat eye. Ugh, nothing I’ve tried works with my eye shape.

Loved this!! One thing that don’t buy is a lot of skincare! I only use 6 products that muti task. Meaning they have better ingredients so I don’t need to add more! And I buy medical grade. After years of drugstore brands, since being here on lockdown I switched to medical grade and my skin has never looked better! Sarni what is your favorite jel liner and brush to use? ❤️❤️

Hi Sanni, I hope life is treating You well. I am fully aware I am commenting on an old video of Yours and You probably will never see this. I have been a big fan since Your Iconic Blondes series (I was probably called something Realsleepyhead back then, not that it matters, but I am a big fan for a long time). I was just recommending Your channel for make up tutorials to someone on FB, which inspired me to go down the memory lane here, and this video inspired me to make my own video on the topic. There was this "5 things I do not buy" in blogs and YT a good while ago, I even blogged myself about 25 things I do not buy back in 2019 or something life that. Now I am making a list again, it is not finished yet, but I ended up with 12, with further 6 things I could also give up if pressed.. Never in a million years I thought I'd end up making Youtube videos myself, but here we are & I think I'll film it soon.

I’ve stopped buying eyebrow pencils. I run through them SO quickly. And there’s so little product and so much plastic, it’s insane! Brow pomades and shadows last so much longer and work fine for me

I also have changed to natural soaps from body wash, such a simple change but with the whole family now using quality handmade soaps we aren’t throwing lots of plastic into landfills, plus supporting local cottage industries.
Don’t get me started in sheet masks 🤣

I also stopped buying waterproof as there was so much debris, dander buildup. May I ask what tube brand you were referring to?

I want to switch to bar soap but my skin is so dry. I also don't take showers everyday so mine last a little longer. I am going to try bar shampoo though. Have you heard of Besame mascara? It doesn't come in a tube. I want to try it.

Sanni I don’t buy nail polish and like you I keep my nails short and nail polish free. I also don’t fall for skincare products by YouTube influencers. I buy what ever works for my skin. My skincare are not expensive but they work better than high end brands. The most expensive is the Elizabeth Arden Prevage Eye Serum. I swear by this product as I’ve tried many many brands. I am using the Korean 6 products method and pat my skin using this inexpensive Japanese Hado Labo Gokujyun Lotion. I stopped buying high end skincare because they won’t work on my Asian skin. I also stopped buying new foundations. I used to buy and buy and a lot of times I ended up not returning them when they don’t work on me.

I don’t buy expensive mascaras. Find the wand/spooly you love and find a drugstore equivalent
