When mark got his powers it made Nolan really uncomfortable, because for 17 years was able to get way from his duty as a viltrumite, he was happy being a dad being a husband. But when mark gets his powers he knows what he has to do, and it scares him, his one goal was to conquer but this could possibly destroy his family.

Omni man is a man that cannot admit that anything other than his skill to fight is important. It wasn’t any different before Mark got his powers. He got visibly angry at his family when his wife suggested that mark may never get his powers and we got to see Marks Dad snap into reality and become ashamed of being a vultrimite . He does love Debby but he will never say it now that the cats out of the bag. He was initially using her to make an offsprig
