Grunge music is all about passion and emotions and angsts and rough raspy voices.

Eddie is amazing. Both with Pearl Jam and when he goes on his own on occasion.

The biggest two complaints that I have ever heard about Pearl Jam, I have answers for both of them.
1) grunge sounds like they're all singing with rocks in their mouth - it is raw emotion, and not everyone is ready to actually listen to the lyrics behind something that Raw
2) Pearl Jam isn't as hardcore as they used to be - they started their career in their early twenties. Eddie is the only lead singer of that era that is still with us. They are almost 60 years old now. They grew up and allowed their music to grow with them. They are not trying to hold on to The Angst of a twenty-four-year-old when they are now in their fifties with their own families. They are still making music. But now from the 58 year olds perspective, not a 24 year olds.
But as the 24 year-old, he was wise Beyond his years

I am a lifelong card carrying member of the Grunge Era. I was sixteen when they hit the scene and they were the embodiment of teenage angst for me. I still get moved when I hear the great bands of the Grunge era. Unfortunately Eddie is the only frontman left of all of them.

This song is just amazing! You can tell he is putting his soul into this performance...just compare the way he looks emotionally at the beginning of the video to the way he looks at the end. 🔥
