The man, the legend Eddie Vedder. The last man standing from my generation when it comes to grunge music. RIP all the singers we've lost along the way. 😢

They broke the mold after Eddie. He is a gem. What an amazing empathetic man. He is a brilliant songwriter and singer. Writes music that helps us get through the good and bad times. Seeing them live is a life changing experience ❤

In the early 90s, four bands emerged from the obscure Seattle underground, and took the world by storm. They were:
Alice In Chains
Nirvana
Pearl Jam
Sound Garden

Collectively, they were known as “grunge.”
Please check out all four of these amazing groups.

If a singer can make you feel their words they have done their job well.

This era of music was quite memorable. Bands like Pearl Jam rose to the top. And something else I’ve realized in hindsight, is that lower voices like Eddie’s became more prominent in rock during that period. Otherwise, I’ve read some interviews with Eddie. He came across as very guarded and intense, but also conveying some greatly admirable notions of artistry and deep personal convictions. This is nothing if not a very heartfelt performance.

I love how animated he is when he sings. A joy to watch as well as listen. Such a handsome photogenic guy too.

MTV unplugged is the one gift MTV left the world.
They gave so many iconic bands at the time this outlet, and it let to some of the most iconic live concerts.
Thinking of what MTV have become, with all the nonsense they do know. Its important to remember that once upon a time they where the only place that gave a platform for these bands to do this, and for the young listeners to interact with it in that way.
And the MTV Unplugged shows are legendary now, all because of what MTV used to be.

I know someday you’ll have a beautiful life, I know you’ll be a star, in somebody’s else’s sky, but why, why, why can’t it be, can’t it be in mine.

Pure agonizing poetry!

Amazing breakup - heartbreak song. Still resonates with me years later. Eddie has an amazing voice, glad to see you take this on...hoping you pay attention to the lyrics as well.

Great reaction. I think your next reaction should be "Alive" by Pearl Jam.

Nice reaction..the day that this performance was filmed, Eddie, the singer had the flu which made his voice a little strained..you should check out more Pearl Jam and listen to him at full health!

One of the very best performances imo from MTV Unplugged. The man just left his soul exposed out there. Great analysis of vocals and lyrics!
'90s concert footage of Eddie shows his crazy energy--climbing and hanging from beams and girders, crowd diving and crowd surfing--wild!🤘

This is a song that indeed reaches into your heart and soul. Trust me some of these comments are indeed telling you something. This song will be stronger once you get a little older. This one will last forever
