I'm really good at telling the truth, my pastor, one Sunday, said, "I tried calling you this week" I replied "I saw that, I ignored it". He had this cosmic look of joy and a belly laugh ensued.

Telling the truth to others, however, must always be tempered by tact and diplomacy - many people hate the truth, as it shatters the mirror of deceptions that they stare at daily. Telling the truth to yourself, introspecting with cold, rational clarity - that's the adventure.

I think this is especially true when it comes to the self. Tell yourself the truth. The ramifications of not doing so can lead you down a pathway of manufacturing a personal Hell, akin to what Milton's Satan does in Paradise Lost, because it becomes the only place--at least in your mind--that is free from the conscious suffering brought on by your own hands.

This is 100% true. Habitually telling yourself the hard truth opens up a once invisible universe.

This is so true. I used to be a horrible liar to myself and others to try and hide my own inadequacies. I lost my wife and family because of this. I was horribly depressed and absolutely miserable. After a lot of soul searching I decided that I was going to just own up to my mistakes. It was hard and humiliating but after a little while I noticed I was no longer depressed. I was able to engage in conversation better because I didn’t need to keep track of all the different lies I was telling. I stopped caring about what other’s opinions of me were. I took ownership and responsibility for my mistakes instead of trying to look good. It was so freeing.

A man once told me this saying which changed the way I looked at the truth.
‘If someone asks you a question in which you don’t want to answer don’t say a fucking word, say what you have to if that, but never lie cause those bastards stay with you’.

I worked at a grocery store for a number of months, and my father was a locksmith who had taught me how to open cars with the keys left inside of them, I never got a better feeling than helping someone who is locked out of their car. Sometimes they'd give me a tip sometimes they didn't it didn't matter I never asked for one.

Truth is not subjective it doesnt vary in dimensions or situations truth is universal and divine. Love is all that is real, everything else is a construct. We are all family that is truth regardless of time place or situations. Truth is what divinity stands on.

Dude this is so insanely true. I was in Princeton Model Congress, where I went to DC and presented a bill of my creation to a mock committee of my peers from around the country. These individuals were all farr leftists and some described being forced to go on white privilege walks at their private schools. I went on to explain my dismay for their position, explaining that in my diverse public school even the white kids openly said the N word and that it wasn’t a problem. I explained that there was a sort of social contract, that people could say terrible shit to each other, and that we would all clearly know when someone wasn’t joking and that those who didn’t were likely to get fucked up. I even explained to these lefties that I had said it myself. This was quite anxiety provoking in the moment, although after we concluded they all came up to me to express their genuine respect for me, which was surprising to say the least. It taught me to always be upfront with how I feel or what I’ve done, and then to explain it later. The ultimate guidelines for adventure in this thing we call life.

So many times that I have said truth I expect to be punished for it. The surprise that I so often receive is I get positive responses and other people agreeing with me.
