I show you how to do an OEM install of Linux Mint 19.x series... You can also do this with Ubuntu. OEM installs are the professional way to prepare a machine for an end user. :)

Thanks for the video Joe!
Reminds me of the days that I worked for a Computer Configuration Corp... They made computers for all kinds of companies and the US Gov.... We built the computers and then hooked them up to a network server and ran a floppy disk to boot the system and it would access the software server and Ghost install the software image (A hole running system image with all of the software that a engineer created), then after the system had the image on it we would boot the system and run another Floppy that would check that everything was set and working then we would click on a Icon very much like the one in the video and then shutdown the computer and put it in a tray with the paperwork and place it on the conveyor and off it would go to shipping.
Their were 2 of us on a sub-team and 6 sub-teams in the team. We had to crank out 16 computer each per sub-teams a shift. Man that was a lot of computers a day, week, and month. Some accounts were just 10 units and others were 100 or more. We never know what Gov department they went to as the program linked to the Icon would also create the new login and screens for the Windows system for that Gov Agency... It was a good time as long as it lasted....
They got bought out and the new company, you guessed it, moved to Mexico... :-(

Hi Joe. I've been missing your regular posts lately. I remember watching this video quite a while ago but I needed to refresh things getting ready to load Linux Mint 20.3 for a friend. Thanks for you dedication to Linux and us end users. I hope things are going OK for you!

Thx from a new user out of germany. Your vids of Linux and so on are great. Even my old brain can deal with your well explained tutorials.
Also your Video for the bash terminal is a super start for newbs like I‘m.
Well, I‘ve to say that unfortunatly support ended for win7 and we became devorced because of that. It. was also time for buying a new machine, (of course I watched your video „top 5 mistakes new linux user make), got a little frightened by the idea using another OS - but I think with you in my „video-background‘ I‘ll handle it.

I was just curious as to how it looks when the user first boots honestly :P. I could have definitely figured out how to do this if I needed to but now I don't even need to do that! Great video.

This is excellent. I just installed mint cinnamon in two new computers that I’ll be giving to some family members. I can’t believe how easy it was to do. However, I’m not sure if I should do this again like your presentation shows or not. I’m new to Linux and I’m afraid that they might pull one of my stunts and make bad, naughty, shameful changes. I have some homework to do.
Thanks for helping us out Joe

That proprietary drivers popup is annoying. I haven't found any way to shut that off. I have 2 Linux Mint computers at the office on server hardware which has Matrox video. There are no drivers that I can download for these and have to click to close those popups every time I boot the machine. Minor annoyance, but, would be nice to turn that notification off. Thank you for your videos. Always look forward to them.

Recently installed Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.3 on my old Dell 960 Workstation. Worked fine for about three months then started to have boot issues. It would boot to the Logo screen an stop, sometimes it worked, sometimes not. I played around with it all day and finally gave up and reinstall 19.2 and had no problems since. To many updates in 19.3 to go through them all and find whats causing the problem when 19.2 seem to run just fine fully updated.

I have been using 19.1 for quite a while now, 3 machines. Very impressed; however 19.3 has proved to be a nightmare on my old Dell Inspiron. It takes forever to boot up, even with all start items disabled. I haven't tried it out on my good laptop or my desktop PC. I am gonna stay with 19.1 for now, it is a really sweet OS.

Great video, thanks. Is there a way to create an iso or better still a usb of the oem with software without cloning the hard drive? If so could you do a follow up video please? Many thanks

Can you change the desktop bkg to show the logo of the "company" who built it and maybe a congratulations to the customer on their very wise purchase of a Billybob Linux computer?

I did an OEM install on my desktop just to make sure that I did the install correctly and then just setup my account like a new user
