In this video, Tim Warner covers Task Manager, the graphical process and service management tool in Windows Server 2012. He’ll walk through how you can use Windows Server 2012 Task manager to identify malware and tune performance, among other critical functions.

Task Manager in Windows Server 2012 is a process and service management tool that’s actually been in Windows for quite a while. It goes back to Windows 3.1 and, surprisingly, Microsoft hasn’t really tweaked Task Manager until now.

The current version of the tool has inherited quite a bit from the Sysinternals Process Explorer tool that is freely available from the Microsoft website.

You’ll use this primarily to kill stuck programs, identify any malware or suspicious processes that are affecting your system, and then tune performance by identifying which processes and services are consuming too many resources on the system.

That's so great to hear! (read?) We really work hard to make sure our training is useful and entertaining. There's nothing worse than spacing out or falling asleep during training and having to sit through it a second time. Keep watching and tell your friends!
