Eddie Van Halen is the greatest guitarist in at least the last 45 years. When EVH came on the seen in 1978 with his debut album, the sound he created with the guitar was unheard of, and the way he played was insane, he innovated & revolutionized the sound of the electric guitar and the amp. All hard rock & metal bands that followed throughout the 80's until today were all inspired and influenced by EVH'S guitar sound & playing style. Yes, his style is now getting old and maybe at times a little repetitive, but there has not been another guitarist since Eddie to revolutionise rock the way he did. He's the best guitarist since Jimi Hendrix hands down!
