Billy Sheehan performed Eruption with Steve Vai on Dave's Eat Em and Smile Tour, Steve launched into eruption and Billy walked over and slapped his hand on the guitar strings, silencing them, then proceeded to tear into eruption on his bass, and they traded back and forth, shredding eruption on guitar and bass, was pretty epic, can still picture it to this day 30 something years later. Fuck Im old.

This one brought me to tears. I’m 61 & saw Van Halen 14 times. I was fortunate enough to meet Eddie and got to watch him play Eruption back stage. I’ll never, EVER forget that night! Thank you for bringing back one of the most epic memories of my life!

Your skills are stunning and quite brilliant, but what caused me to comment was your beautiful and
generous tribute to Eddie.
I’m 60 this year and grew up on Van Halen. ALL THE TIME. Your sentiments finally captured what
I could not properly express and I truly wept for the first time since his passing.
Tears of sadness, for sure, but also joy for the sheer joy he embodied.
