All of Eddie's guitars end up in heaven because he played the hell out of them.

Wanna remind everyone that he was drunk out of his MIND while playing that and still did it flawlessly. That's the power of Eddie. RIP King 👑

As a child Eddie was trained as a classical pianist. So when he discovered electric guitar, he instinctively played that instrument the same way he played piano.

I'm 58 going to be 59 years old in the day they announced that he passed away I cried for over a week. Brother thank you so very much for giving my generation the greatest greatest music we have ever had, you took a level of guitar playing that should have been only for the gods of Olympus. God bless you and I know you have all those angels up in heaven rocking everyday everyday to your music

Legend …. Period. He built his own guitar when he first started . You can always tell if it’s eddie playing. His guitar has its own sound imo He learned to make sounds of other instruments with his guitar . I’m so glad y’all really appreciated this!

The thing to remember is, this....was...his...warmup. This is how he warmed up before a performance. The original "Eruption" was recorded in the studio while everyone else was on break and he was just sitting there chilling, trying to keep his fingers warm.

There is "NO" racial barriers to appreciate greatness and the love for music!!!
Eddie's guitar solos alone were worth the price of admission!

The thing you gotta remember is that 1978 when this album came out, nobody ever heard someone play the guitar like this before.

Makes me wanna cry every time I watch someone witnessing Eddie's greatness for the first time and watch them watch in awe. He really was the King of ten fingers and six strings. RIP EDDIE!

I got to see Van Halen 3 times when I lived in Hawaii. One time, during Eddie's solo, his wife came out on stage with their toddler son to surprise him. He stopped playing for a minute and the crowd went nuts. His boy was wearing ear protection. When Eddie restarted his solo, he went absolutely ballistic! One of those moments in history which I was so fortunate to experience!

He did things on his guitar that nobody thought was possible. Absolutely amazing. Rest in peace Eddy you will be missed but never forgotten.

Eddie is actually hitting notes with both hands when he plays, meaning his left hand is playing a string while his picking hand (right) is playing a separate note. He spoke about how most rock guitarist hadn’t figured that out yet, and he mentioned later in his career how guys were just starting to learn his technique. One of a kind and a pioneer in rock guitarists. He also loved the sound of tube amps and spent a lot of time and money finding and buying tubes.

I can't explain the joy I felt watching these four young men discovering and appreciating EVH for the first time. They get it!

He made his own guitar as a broke 20 year old and it sounded like nothing else. All time great guitar player. RIP Eddie. I’m just thankful you left us so much great music!

The thing to pay attention to is how easy this is for him. The smile on his face and the joy in his heart and soul is truly astounding. This is Amadeus Mozart on a guitar. I am 46. I love watching you guys get leveled like I did at 6 years old 1984 discovering Eddie for the first time. Maybe earlier. Brings back such good memories. Thank you!
