One of the best ways to get used to the camera is to just get in front of it and do it over and over and over again. The more you do it the more comfortable you will be. After 400 videos Chelsea treats the camera as another person. Kind of like your make believe friend :-) -Brandon

It's very easy for me to talk to the camera because many times I actually forget that I'm on camera when I'm talking with my subscribers and I talk like they are in the room with me. I feel that makes me more real and very much like those who watch me. I've had many tell me that they feel like they are my next door neighbor or that they are sitting across the table from me. That makes me happy! xoxo patti :) 🎀

Hey Tim,

I love that you're sharing this gold with everyone, rather than just purchasers! I think the most valuable thing to me is personally understanding my why. Knowing why you're doing something is easily conveyed in how your present your video. It's possible just from watching certain videos to know if they're why is strong enough!

Just an update, I have continually produced a video log everyday since completing your course! :) I've kept them unlisted as they don't really offer value to anyone other than myself, but I'm still really enjoying doing it!

Hope you're ok,
Scott.

Having bloopers at the end, makes people want to watch the video 'till the end. Great idea!

Connecting with my audience is what keeps me creating videos, I've connected with so many brilliant people. I like being honest showing both the ups and downs so people know I'm normal

I have really gotten to know a lot of my subscribers from the comments and them sharing their lives with me as well. When I film I don't feel like I am looking at my phone but talking directly to them and sometimes just sitting down and having a cup of coffee with them. Its really helped make my videos flow more and become more relate-able.

The "why" works for every business too - great stuff!

Yes, the connection is definitely needed. Your audience wants to do more than watch, they want to feel as though they're right there with you.

Just try to respond to as many Comments as possible. If you have a small/mid-sized channel, that should only take a couple minutes a day.

"Find your voice" sounds really interesting!
I have been working on my "why" a lot as well lately. It's often easy to look at it from within yourself but more difficult to word it properly to others

I connect with my subscriber as much as I can. I get lots of letters that I enjoy and they are very sweat. I think that the main thing is to answer them and i also watch their videos. Great video. I always learn. Thanks

Hi Tim, Ruan here - Great course!! Bought it yesterday and finished it today! I mainly do VFX / Software type tutorials on my channel - so mostly screen-share stuff, but after doing your course I am thinking of maybe appearing on camera every now and then - who knows, let's see what happens! Just want to say thanks and yeah cool course! <-- 5 stars!

"People don't buy what you do they buy why you do it" - Simon Sinek. Thanks for the reminder. Time to get across my 'why'. P.s go watch the Simon Sinek Tedx talk to go further into this. You won't regret it.

Fantastic stuff! I've gotten lost and stopped posting me actually talking (just clips with music etc). I can see how important it is to really connect now. Thanks guys!

+Video Creators I am an actress, trained heavily in Meisner technique. Daniel should know what that means. ;-) I enjoyed hearing your thoughts, which resemble part of the process of how you develop a character when working a script. Good job!

I don't actually show my face on camera, but i do try to connect with my subscribers by reading all their comments and building my videos around what they would enjoy to watch. Great Video guys. I'll be on camera one day :)

Great tips! I have just realized I haven't had a chance yet to tell the story of how to survive in another country all by yourself!! Ha! Awesome inspiration! Thank you

Me and my team at LooseKeys use animation to tell stories. We have a lot of fun with it and it's a good way to connect with people in a fun way.
