It's so amazing to me how people get bent out of shape when you say you use traction control, as if it's somehow a bad thing. The truth of the matter is, real world GT3 cars use traction control in real world races.

I am 63 and did road racing here in the southwest for over 10 years, I also instructed for a number of years, your tips are super well thought out, and 100% applicable to the real thing! Well done!

I could never memorize the perfect line for each track, but over time it's become 2nd nature to me, but I'll never be an elite player, but I do love it, best racing game of all time.

This is exactly what I wanted from those demonstration videos that GT puts on license tests, so thanks a lot for this!

Awesome and helpful tips here! I’m brand new to GT starting with GT 7 so I’m just learning everything. This is really helpful to know these things when it comes to turning and braking as there is quite a lot that goes into the true art and technique of driving. Thanks again!

Throttle modulation is probably the biggest physics improvement they've made to this game! It was the first thing I noticed and it honestly feels more natural to not be able to just mat the throttle at the apex of a corner. I've driven enough real cars to know how they feel when exiting a corner that I don't use the throttle like an on/off switch.

Adding up to your tips I found it helpful to learn the tracks part by part with the Track experience mode. Helps to find out where to flatout after apexes again etc.

"You gotta have strong throttle control" bruh i've been controlling my throttle with dual shock button "X" since GT4. XD the level of detail in GT7 is insane. I had the first lesson on how GT7 is a different animal than the other GTs when I got a 370Z around the high speed ring and tried to hammer the throttle on the S turns. Yes spin my world xD I love this game. Perfect tips. On point bro.

Something that it is worth to mention on GT7 is the new pedal calibration settings. They do affect your driving drastically. The other week I was doing good in the dailies using an alternate account, having fewer incidents and better results and so. Then, when I tried another account, it looked like everyone wanted to punt or ram me off the track. Some drivers even told me I was "break checking them"... Then I realized that on this account the pedal calibration settings were on default for my G29 wheel (min 5% and max 60% for braking for instance, when I actually I had 0, 5 % and 100% respectivelly on the other account). Once I changed the settings to my liking things were normal again. Actually, punters and rammers were still there but now I could defend better too.

Just by the way you explain each tip, I know they're gonna help me a lot. Much thanks!

Here's another tip I've found, experiment with the tire compounds. Using Racing: Softs all the time everywhere will hinder your performance if it starts to rain for example. You're gonna be used to that high grip, but once the rain comes, you're not gonna be able to control it for the life of you. And if the race has Tire Wear and Fuel Consumption on, you're gonna be gonna be pitting a lot to replace them. Racing: Hard doesn't mean they're made of bricks and have *no* grip, just slightly reduced grip but greater durability.

Was doing the 450, 000 race on Sarthe in a Carrera, had it on Intermediates for the rain the hits ya at lap 3 or so, all was well... until the game decided to go past drizzle and straight into torrential. Trying to hit 170KPH, no go. The back tires would lose all grip due to the severe hydroplaning. But the Intermediates could handle the wet roads, whilst all the other cars were on Racing: Hard, Medium, and Soft. They had to slow WAAYYY down to where I nearly got a 1 minute lead on them. So cruising under 170KPH, I got myself into the pits, swapped out for the Wets and it was smooth sailing from there. Rain passed and I never had to swap out because of the puddles all over the track.

New most of this, but still great video.
Grand turismo had this in the first games and need to bring these lessons back for refresh or people that don't know this information.

Driving in the outside view helps a lot with seeing the dry line after it stops raining.
