I was told by my Physician than excess B12 in the system is not an issue as the body releases any excess.
But worth checking for oneself as it could be conditional.

Question, Is it possible to have low B-12 in your body, yet still have a normal or high B-12 blood test. I'm asking because I have taking Metformin for 15 years and when having a B-12 blood test it is always around 2000/high. I don't supplement or eat with B-12 in mind. Over the years I have all the signs of low B-12 but doctors say you don't have a problem according to the blood test.

Just for the information, b12 is not present in "non-fortified" nutritional yeast.
