Lack of balance is a symptom. Older people absorb B12 poorly, making them vulnerable to falling.

My entire life doctors would say “you’re a little anemic”. I’ve lived a life of fatigue and depression. As I’ve aged (49 today) I’ve gotten scarier symptoms.
I’ve been to just about every doctor under the sun that specializes in everything…I’ve had synthetic iron infusions.
My ears ring, my eyes have gone bad, my head pounds, my blood pressure is up etc.
5mo ago I woke up with a numb leg all the way to My toes. All my life my stomach has been a mess….i called it IBS.
Long story short I had EGD, colonoscopy, gall bladder scan, abdominal scans etc etc. all normal. I’m talking decades of doctors guys.
No one ever checked my b-12. Ever.
Well yesterday they did. He said I was the lowest he’d ever seen. He gave me a b-12 shot at noon. Told me to get a series of 7 and then once a month for life.
I woke up at 4am and can’t sleep. I feel like a million bucks. I’m shook. If one lil shot has made this much of a difference I think I’m going to feel like a new person.
I’m just angry no one ever suggested it in all this time. My 4 girls also have small red blood cells. Doctors never seem too concerned and I always say “well I’m also anemic”
My 14yr old has vitaligo ! Wow. She has a white streak and one small spot the dermatologist has recently said is vitaligo.
My god. The more u learn. I’m going to have them all get their b-12 tested. I’ll be damned if I let them live a whole life like this.

If you have anemia but you have always ate red meat
If you have ulcers and had to be on PPI for acid reflux if you have had hiatal hernia perhaps after pregnancy or if you have gastritis chronic.
If necessary pay for a serum b12 test.
I got nowhere in oral b12 Methocobalimn injection every 2 months is a game changer.

I forgot one. I used to wake up in the morning, drink water, and double over in pain. It did not matter if I waited an hour or two after waking up, and it did not happen every morning, but it happened a lot. Since taking B12, I haven't experienced any pain.

And yet test for B12 deficiency is not included in yearly wellness check. Nor is it paid for by insurance if you get it on your own. But they will pay for Viagra.

Here are the symptoms I had before I realized I had a B12 deficiency:

I felt tired all the time no matter how much I slept

I couldn't fall asleep and often woke up at night

I felt constantly exhausted and fatigued

Everything felt overwhelming and too much

Nothing was fun anymore, it was like my brain couldn't produce happy chemicals anymore

I felt severly depressed and often burst out crying. I felt very hopeless and in despair and I didn't understand why

I regularly had headaches that felt like my head will explode

Eventually I developed memory loss and confusion. I forgot everything. When I tried to read something I forgot the sentence while reading it. Nothing made sense anymore. I couldn't visulize thoughts in my brain anymore.

Especially the last symptom was quite scary. Luckily I got diagnosed with B12 deficiency shortly after developing the last symptom. I immediately felt better after supplementing B12!

Thank you . Unbelievable ! Lifelong health issues solved.
The big question is :
Why didn’t so many doctors (plural) offer this obviously easy approach of a solution for severely restricting heavy migraine episodes?

Thanks for sharing. Just do a blood test before supplements ❤

Oh yeah 😎? The Micturition Reflex requires Vitamin B12. Lack of Cobalamin causes loss of control of the urinary bladder leading to urinary incontinence. The bladder fills and overfills leading to stretching of the smooth muscle of the bladder causing the bladder to suddenly, spasmodically to constrict forcing urine (micturere-Latin) to be forced back up the ureters into the kidneys under pressure. Also urine is forced down and out through the urethra onto the floor. Urine forced into the kidneys under pressure could lead to kidney failure from being damaged.
