How are you hooking up the speakers to the SMSL AD18? I dont see any RCA Speaker outputs hooked up to anything from the SMSL AD18. From what I can see, it appears that the speaker outputs on the Rotel are hooked up to the speaker. Are you connecting the headphone output jack of the SMSL AD18 to the speakers? If you are, you cannot make a fair sound comparison of a direct speaker output (Rotel) compared to a headphone jack output (SMSL)
