What do you think about the SMSL AD18 Speaker / Headpone Amplifier? Quick Tip: If you are using headphones on the SMSL AD18 make sure to use Bluetooth as your source as it will give you better amplification compared to the AUX input.

This review mentions poor connection with the remote but I want to mention that the Bluetooth connection is superb. I was getting a consistent strong signal through multiple walls and about 15-20 feet away. I'm sure it could perform even farther in a large living room. That little antenna on the back really helps.

Can you describe the sound quality more for me? How is the bass with those speakers for their size, I am not a bass head but like a good balance. I'm getting the same set up but it is a little negative that the headphone port is not really powerful. Still I hope the headphone is better then my stock one in my 2013 Dell PC.

Very comprehensive review, thank you. If I ever got a desktop setup I was thinking about one of these, but you’ve pointed out a couple of things that wouldn’t work for me. First up my headphones are 300ohm, so I don’t think they’d be driven properly, and that interface for swapping between headphones and speakers would drive me loco!

Its pretty nice even at compressed audio from Youtube there is digital signal processor (DSP) inside this amp I think.

Great video! I want to clean up my desktop setup and I was planning on selling my MB42xs for the powered version, which I'm sure are great, just a pretty boring side grade :/

There are so few options that include all these features, and to find a video testing it with my exact speakers is just too perfect!

Can this drive speakers like the ELAC Debut B6.2's which are 6ohms?

Does the 3.5mm subwoofer output in the back go full range stereo or mono?

The holes for connecting speaker wires are VERTICAL. It’s so difficult to put wire tips into the holes and screw the caps. Volume range is 0-60 and it always reset to 20 after unplugging the power. For durability concerns I better disconnect its power when I am not using it.

Why choose that to a conventional amp? Is it just to save space? 150$ is a good price. But a conventional amp has more power for headphones. Plus you get hdmi. Have you tried the Sonos Beam? Combines all that to a sound bar and amp plus streaming features.

On your AD18 (if you still have it) does your volume level 1 produce any sound?

Mine goes from 0 no sound, 1 no sound, 2 sound.

Good combo - I have basically the same setup. I went with the standard MB42s and upgraded the crossovers myself.

Your speakers are not really good for bass. On my system the bass is out of this world. I have it set on 3 and it goes to 10 the hole house rumbles.
