DeWALT 20v Flexvolt Advantage 1/2 in Hammer Drill Review - DCD999 | Flexvolt Power | Drills - ep.7

We take a look at DeWALT's flagship 1/2 inch Hammer Drill driver that takes advantage of Flexvolt Batteries. Marketed under the FLEXVOLT ADVANTAGE tag this drill (along with other flexvolt advantage power tools) has the ability to continue to draw more power from the flexvolt batteries as long as the internal resistance is sustained under load allowing the tool to provide more power. Resulting in faster, more powerful, and more performance from the setup.

Is it enough to overtake the current leader?
Close, but not enough. It is enough to come close to the Makita GPH01 with the 2.5 ah battery, but not enough to overtake the Makita GPH01 with the 4.0 ah batteries with 21700 cells.

Still a great drill none the less. Not every job requires the most powerful drill.

With it's elevated setup on hammer mode. It is probably the fastest non rotary hammer drill on the market today for masonry applications.

Sorry, but the 998 Power Detect is the most powerful between all of them. Power Detect nation !! Cool video great job! If you threw some 21700 cells on the Dewalts, you'd get even better numbers.

I dumped 80% of my Dewalt last year. The 999 was one I kept as I prefer it as my main drill and I enjoy it better than the completion drills.

I do wish I could put the Bosch Blue Tooth system/app up to it. The Soft start feature is great for their app. And as you know, this 999 can get away from you.

The longer handle is great as I have only the 1 arm..1 giant arm, but only 1. So I use the handle on my body as leverage (to not snap my wrist).

The light us great. 20 minutes is great, and it's surprisingly bright.

Tbh, I keep mine at drill mide 24/7. I don't use it for driving screws into wood/metal. It's just for making holes, and do it fast and effectively.

However... that speed control switch SUUUUCKS. Lol.

Can you get the dcd998 with 8ah battery please? Many people say its better than the dcd999
