If you thought that was out there, another pitch for a turtle's movie involved using completely animated Turtles in a live action setting... Very similar to what was found in the 1988 classic Who Framed Roger Rabbit... Which honestly would have been kind of baller in my opinion... Especially if they used the turtles from the 1987 cartoon... Because those guys were absolutely ridiculous and super fun and I love them so much.
..

And speaking of the big, bad, badass Casey Jones, he is of course played by the super talented Ellie-us Koh-tayus and is, hands down, the greatest adaptation of Casey Jones ever. No other incarnation comes close to how cool Casey is in this movie. Super random fun fact, I actually convinced my therapist to name their child after this character and they did!

“Wise men say, forgiveness is divine but never pay full price for late pizza.” One of the great lines of all time 😂

I've seen this movie a million times when I was a kid. I never truly appreciated how awesome the puppets were until now. The facial expressions on the turtles are nearly flawless.

Many have confirmed that it was not Hoag's issue with violence in the film that got her booted from the sequel. It was her frequent advocacy for the well being of the suffering actors in the suits, insisting they get more breaks and humane treatment, which hampered production. The woman is a gem, and the story deserves to be told correctly.

The first Turtles movie still holds up. I'm glad no one from the first film listened to Judith Hoag about the violence and the darkness. The sequels proved how wrong her vision was

The song Turtle Power will forever bring me back to this movie. Great song and a great movie!

Favorite Turtle? Raph, because he shouted 'DAMN!' when Casey beat him and got away. And even James O'barr was able to get a small cameo in The Crow. Sucks they couldn't include one of the creators.

You missed one! Ernie Reyes Jr. was Donatello stunt man and then starred in the 2nd movie as Keno. He's also Surf Ninjas legend.

I love that Shredder actually beat the entire team and their DAD has to come and save the day.

I was attending a summer camp when this movie came out. I was about 7 years old. I walked in do the daycare with my mom and the lady behind the desk Toby the I should look at the wall for what we were doing today. That day we were going to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the theater! My mom knew ahead of time. I was already wearing a Ninja Turtles t-shirt and had my lunch box. I was ready to go! I wish I can get that excited over things again.

One my absolute fondest childhood memory was asking my parents for the Raphael toy for Christmas.
I waited, and waited and waited for the day. When it came, that morning was almost magical. I still remember opening the gifts (I got Raf, April, Splinter and Shredder). I loved them so much I didn't wanna throw out the packaging.
Man, I can almost smell the plastic. What a time to be alive, man

No comment about April wearing that bright yellow rain jacket at the beginning?

Great breakdown MT, but Danny wasn't handing the stolen wallet to Tatsu at the beginning of the film, it was just a random foot ninja. You can tell by the forearm armor he was wearing. Tatsu only wore a robe with baggy sleeves in the movie.
