The turtles were designed by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, and was one of the last major projects Henson himself had a hand in working on before his death. They still look amazing to this day, despite some visible malfunctions in some scenes.

Still the BEST TMNT Movie ever, 33 years later.

The Movie turned out the way that it did, because it was done by Golden Harvest. The Hong Kong Studio responsible for launching Cynthia Rothrock. They knew how to make the Fight Scenes good, and made them where you can actually see the Martial Artists Skills. New Line Cinema was the only American Studio to believe in the Movie's ability to be a success, and they signed on to be the Distributor of the Movie.

This movie perfectly captures the 80s becoming the 90s. It portrays the tropes that were common in both very nicely. It's definitely one of the three films that I feel best portray the 90s.

Fun fact: The main thug who offers cigarettes (regular or menthol) and later tried to take on Casey, is SAM ROCKWELL. You may know him as Wild Bill from "The Green Mile", and Guy from "Galaxy Quest", not to mention his Academy Award-winning role of Jason Dixon in "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri ".

I am the oldest of 4 brothers. We were teenagers when we saw this movie opening day in 1990. We played the TMNT Arcade game while waiting for the 1pm showing. This film has held up amazingly well and will always have a special place in my heart. Appreciate the channel guys, keep up the great work!

Fun Fact: the actors that was in the suits did cameos in the movie.
Michelan Sisti (Michelangelo suit actor) player the Domino's pizza delivery guy.
David Forman (Leonardo suit actor) was one of the side gang memeber in the scene when Casey was fighting Tatsu.
Leif Tilden (Donatello suit actor) was the Foot Clan memeber that gave Apirl "a message" in the subway.
Josh Pais (Raphael suit actor) was the cab passenger when Raphael rolled over it.

Furthermore Josh Pais also did the voice to Raphael on top of being in the suit.
Also Corey Feldman did the voice to Donatello but he got screwed with his pay.

I’m 41 and I remember seeing this in the theater when I was 8 years old. I was blown away by seeing my favorite cartoon characters come to life on the big screen.

Raphael's character depth is one of the reasons this movie (to me) is still enjoyable

Who else remembers the VHS version of this movie with the Pizza Hut commercial at the beginning? Those were the days.

Turtle 🐢 Power !!! & here are a few fun facts:
- All of the actors inside the turtle suits make cameos in the movie like Josh Pais (Raph which he also did the voice of) was a taxi passenger, Michelan Sisti (Mikey) plays the pizza delivery man, Leif Tilden (Donnie) & David Forman (Leo) both play Foot Clan Ninjas
- Judith Hoag didn’t like this role including the idea of the iconic yellow jumpsuit, but actually Robin Williams (a huge TMNT fan) helped her by telling her everything about April
- Jim Henson helped out with the turtle costume’s & puppets

Cant even believe what an insane time it was to be alive those few years, with 89 Batman mania, 90s turtle mania, then T2 dropped and terminator mania, holy shit those were beyond amazing times for kids :D

The fight from the sewer to the street up to the rooftop where they face Shredder is one of the greatest action sequences ever filmed.

This came out when I was 7. Casey Jones is forever a part of my heart! April O’Neil was one of my first female role models. And the turtles & Splinter… they are core memories. Love this film.

The sequel is good too.

A classic. None of the remakes have the magic of this one. You think it'd be wack after rewatching it, but it holds up so well.

I hope someone noticed the first major role of a future Oscar winner!!! He delivered his line with charisma and excellence! “Regular or menthol?” Then showed his acting chops with, “we have a loyalty to the shredder.”

Trivia: In the original TMNT comics there was a little boy who dropped his 4 pet turtles into the radioactive ooze. The ooze also got into his eyes blinding him. While not explicitly stated for copyright reasons it is strongly implied that little boy was Matt Murdock, who is known to the world as Marvel's Daredevil.

Will FOREVER Love this version of the Ninja Turtles, the story, setting, actions and of course the animatronics and costumes done by my hero Jim Henson

Fun fact: The actors who physically portrayed the Turtles also had cameo roles in the film:

Josh Pais, who plays Raphael (and voices him), plays a passenger in the back of a taxicab right after Raphael hops on the cab's hood.

Michelan Sisti, who plays Michaelangelo, plays the pizza delivery man who delivers the pizza to the Turtles' sewer.

Leif Tilden, who plays Donatello, plays the Foot messenger that meets April in the subway station.

David Forman, who plays Leonardo, plays a gang member in the warehouse during Casey's fight with Tatsu.

It's highly impressive how they've manged to balanced both the ol mirage comic's with the 80s cartoon.

Still to this day one of the most underrated Comic book movie's and goated TMNT film.
