Excellent video for the new MINI owner. Fast, Clear, and to the point. Best oil change video I've seen.

A car with no dipstick. Sounds innovative.

Thanks - very informative! I still don’t like the absence of dipstick - I guess because I’m old school and like to see how dirty the oil looks on it between changes, also to check the level without having to go through the palaver of starting/running/fully warming up the engine and getting the computer to measure it.

Sweet found the drain plug torque = 25 NM
(1:30), central drain screw torque =25nm,
Now to get a 32mm cap for the cartridge
Thank you this will help.

What dipstick forgot to add a dipstick
What an easy way to overfill an engine
Thanks for the info and the torque settings

Does keeping the car level help drain more oil at all?

I would add that the O ring must be installed in it's designated slot (a couple threads above the bottom of the threads) and not at the bottom as one (or I) would normally expect. I did not pay attention to that and had an annoying leak which I discovered after driving 20 miles and fortunately noticed a small puddle where I had parked. I could see that the O ring had been displaced when I took the filter housing off.

What size socket do you need for the central drain screw?

great video....many thanks (on a side note what kind of 'dipstick' thought getting rid of the dipstick was a good idea??? - talk about over engineering and making things more complicated for no you need is the oil level sensor to go bad and not enough oil and big bang - stupid!)

How far down does the o-ring go on the cap? Does it go into the larger channel or pushed all the way to the bottom?
