Home Free also released a new video, “When a Man Loves a Woman”, with Austin singing the lead! It’s fantastic! He sings it with so much of his southern soul and passion! Please check it out!

Don McLean is 75 years old. He is the original writer/artist. Its 50th anniversary. 62 yrs since the day the music died(plane crash of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and Big Bopper). Great reaction. Also I don't know if you remember Todd Tilghman from the voice season 18. He won. His new single and video In A Heartache is out. Please check it out

Hi y'all. I love this reaction!! I mean, it's a LONG song, and Adam nails it with the beat throughout most of it. We get a little taste of Chance's range when he takes it up high during his verse. I love how everyone got to be featured. Don's voice is still amazing after all these years. He fit in well with the guys too. And the 6 part harmony on the last chorus...HEAVEN!!! Thanks for another wonderful reaction, I'll catch y'all later. And more Home Free.?. of course. :)

The "Day the music died" was Feb 3rd, 1959...a plane crash killed rock-n-roll stars, Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper & Buddy Holly...some of the biggest stars at the time ! The song came out wriiren by McLean and recorded & released in 1971...so this is the 50th anniversary of the song : They released it on Feb 3rd, the 62nd anniversary. The video style is absolutely brilliant.

This is such an iconic song - incredibly catchy, as you said, and with all those cryptic images that have had people speculating for the last 50 years. I always love your Home Free reactions, I'm very glad you managed to get to this one. The joy of such a long song, is that they managed to both showcase Don McLean, and respect his contribution while all having the chance to shine. I see people have told you about When A Man Loves A Woman, but if you're looking for some older videos to react to I hope you might enjoy Think A Little Less or the LEGO video for their song Crazy Life.

This is a very serious song. It starts with the death of rock giant Buddy Holly and ends with disillusionment within society that the 60s dream of better world had evaporated with an unjust war in Vietnam which tore the country apart. and the lyrics also point to general turning away from religion but it's nice to see you smiling all the way through it.

I was in high school when the plane crashed in Iowa...in the song the King was Elvis...I wonder IF Don meant for the Queen to be someone....? anyway, my son was 9 months old when this came out(oct 1971)..and YES, at 8+ min long it was the longest song I can ever remember listening to. I sub'd because you did a fine job(plus, I was glad to NOT hear offensive language...so, thank you for that.

I actually soo remember The Day the Music Died on Feb 3/1959.. When 3 young men.. rock and rollers were killed... that's what this song is about so I cried the entire song.. it's not happy for me at all !!
This song was to commemorate the 50th anniversary when this song came out written & sung by Don McLean !!
So wish you had talked about this before you reacted..it would make sense to you & others
