I have been trying to quit caffeine for 7-8 years. The longest I have gone without it is 4 months. I have watched dozens of videos on people who have tried to quit. Most of them go back to consuming it. I don't think people realize how addictive caffeine really is. You have such discipline and will power. I hope you stop for good. I could really use the motivation and inspiration. Look forward to following your journey.

I used to drink two large cups of coffee first thing in the morning but transitioned to one cup of "half caff" with organic decaf (water processed instead of chemical processed, and made in my glass or stainless french press) about a month ago and now I have it later in the morning. Instead, I now have a cup of hot bone broth first thing (after about 16 oz of pure water) and that seems to satisfy my need for having something warm to wrap my hands around and hover over early in the morning. I do believe this has affected my cortisol levels and I also have increased my HRV, which is just starting to trend up from an average of about 70 and now up to 90 and seems to be increasing.

Ten days no caffeine after over than 60 years of drinking coffee. I feel a bit better. I understand it takes time to see results. Everybody’s different. I’m sticking to it.

I love this so much. I recently decided to scale back my workouts and focus on more sleep. I didn't use much caffeine but I also quit it. Still adjusting to feeling like I'm not working out enough but trusting it.

I have cut my caffeine to one cup of coffee in the morning for the past month. Seriously, I thought about skipping the cup this morning all together...but I made a cup. And then I sat down and saw your podcast. Decided I am only drinking half...I think I can do without it! Good luck on this cut Nikkiey!!!

I cut back on caffeine once per year but do a lot more phases of cutting back on caffeine mg. Then none at all for a few weeks. The longer I drag out the decrease process, the longer I can sustain the no caffeine period.
Stay strong! You're doing great! 💪

I quit caffeine. No more headaches/migraines and sleep all through the night. It's made such a big difference. Glad I did.

I'm in the process of weaning off coffee and diet coke. Between a 30 ounce coffee in the am plus almost 6 liters (x3 2 liter bottles) of diet coke every day, I had been drinking about 892 mg's of caffeine daily for about 30+ years. I started tracking my sleep and it was really bad. Since I've been weaning off an going to bed on time my sleep patterns are much better. Also my bG's is much better (I'm type 2). Caffeine is very addictive and the older you get the worse it is on your body....

I dont agree with cutting things out but having a serving is i think the goal. To help you keep on course if thus us what you want to do, research acrylamide, mold and the effects of cooking in aluminum and plastic on coffee. This strengthens the argument for yourself and others.

I avoided coffee until my early 30s, and then I started doing fasting protocols. So, cold brew helped, but I hated the taste. 😂

What I always did was take very small sips like 2-3 per hour. This allowed me to make 3 cups last 5-7 days. So cold brew still curbs my hunger to this day, and no crashes.

BTW : A game changer was doing my 12-15K steps of walking in more frequent shorter durations. What I used to do was hit a 6-8 mile walk in the early morning and then lift in the early afternoon. But this also meant I was sitting more. So I'd get that "sedentary lull." Now I do a 45, then a 30, and then a handful of 15's every few hrs after the gym. This has really given me a lot more stable energy all day long.

It was a dark and stormy night. My cup of jo was sitting on my desk having grown cold. It was a Monday, and itd been there since last weekend. Suddenly a knock came at the door. . .
Caffine makes me tottally emotional. And skittish. I hate caffeine addiction. You have to make it past 3 to 6 mo before your addiction starts to fade. I wish you luck soldier.

Try doing a green drink in the afternoon, like juice cuke, lemon, green apple, with cilantro, spinach

Take a methylated B complex tablet and lions mane. You'll feel way better than on caffeine, no crash and mentally focused.

It's a life hack for caffeine replacement.

I quit caffeine for 3 months. Noticed no difference in life except for a denial to myself of a simple pleasure in life. Started back, and glad I did.

Way to go, Nikkiey!!
I gave up caffeine a few years ago...I was a redbull gal too. In my family, caffeine is linked to breast cysts. I watched my mom go through that and decided I didn't want to walk that path.

The nausea and crippling headaches were rough when I was quitting. I should have decreased slower like you did.

I still enjoy coffee, but it's decaf. Once you get through the withdrawal, the freedom of not needing the caffeine is great. 🎉

So your heart rate variability is quite high, compared to mine. Mine ranges anywhere from 28 to 35, I peeked at 48 once. Is that bad? I get 6 to 7 hours, not much deep sleep, though 😔
